Yesterday and today I have been thinking a lot about Star Wars. Star Wars, when I was younger, was really just a hobby of mine. I would watch Star Wars and play with action figures and that was really all I did with Star Wars. It was only several years ago when I endured a baptism by fire to become a die-hard Star Wars fan. Me, being a nerd, geek, and fanboy, get's picked on a lot at school. Please don't say that you feel sorry for me because of that. I wouldn't be here today, writing this, if it wasn't for this. I have been beaten up before and mocked many times just because of 2 things. I like Star Wars. And I'm proud of it. These events made me realize that ordinary people cannot comprehend what Star Wars is. Star Wars isn't just a movie. It exsists. It isn't like some movies that nobody really cares about. People care about Star Wars. Star Wars is more like a living thing. It has emotions and it grows. Yeah it's brought us 30 years of toys, books, collecting, comics, movies, games, and conventions. It has brought us 30 years of pure bliss. 30 years of friends we may never meet in real life. 30 years of memories and 30 years of childhood. Once you become a Star Wars fan, you are forever a child, surronded by memories of childhood. It is Star Wars moments that are right now bringing tears to my eyes. Moments like every Saturday I would go swimming and come home and watch Star Wars, most of the time ROTJ, and my mom would start crying would Luke took off Vader's mask. Or moments when we went on a school field trip to see Ice Age and when I saw that Lucasfilm Logo on the Attack of the Clones preview I jumped out of my seat and screamed "IT'S STAR WARS!!!" and then the teachers had to come quiet me out of my excitement. Or the numerouse garage sales I went to to buy Star Wars stuff. Or reading my Star Wars movie storybooks to a man who had never seen Star Wars. Or sharing information on Star Wars with my uncle. It is moments like those that make me believe that sometime soon, every wonderful Star Wars devoted Star Wars fan, including all of you wounderful bloggers out there, and everyone who has ever had anything to do with Star Wars, and Star Wars will be granted immortality. So right now I would like to thank Mark, Carrie, Harrison, David, Kenny, Anthony, James, Alec, Peter, John, Ewan, Ian, Christopher, Matthew, Ray, Natalie, Hayden, Frank, Samuel, Rick, Liam, Steve, Troy, Alan, Aaron, Karen, Jake, Peter, Daniel, and everyone else who I can't think of at the moment who had anything to do with Star Wars.
But most of all, I would like to thank George, for 30 years, and for the ride.
Thank you again.
May the Force be with you and good day and good luck, from Mastersaurkon.
