The DVD, HD and NTSC
So I had this dream. My dream was simple. I would have a HD Widescreen television set by the time Episode III came out so I could watch all six films in order in my own home theatre. But as luck would have it I don't think that is going to happen. No, we are being "responsible" and as such are going to wait until next to year to make the leap. But make the leap we will and so shall all of you.

In case you didn't know already Congress is working on a bill that will fully transform all the current TV/Cable stations to digital only by the year 2009. Broadcasters aren't to keen about it but I say its about time. We have been using the same antiquated system for far too long and we need to get with the picture. NTSC is an outdated and fuzzy format that was originally designed as a stop-gap to keep black and white TV's from becoming obsolete. Hence colors are not true and reds tend to bluuurrrr.

HD has been around for over a decade but as anything goes with the government changing over our current system has been like watching a glacier cutting of a valley. At any rate my thanks to John McCain for pushing this through. I hope he succeeds.
