Ideals of our Universe
Greetings Bloggers

Star Wars, Blade Runner, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Terminator, E.T. Just a select handful of Science Fiction phenomena present in our world today. Each tells idealistic and fantasy tales of the future, how we will be travelling amonst the stars, interacting with alien life in our Spaceships, colonising planets and producing technology we could of only dreamed of before hand like a hovercar or x-ray goggles, energy weapons and ray shields.

We all dream or perhaps fear that right now there are alien lifeforms flying across our galaxy in their motherships and we are stuck on earth with our airplanes and cars, barely able to get machines out far into our own solar system. But we are all to dismissing more realistic options.

It seems a stereotype when we say Alien, that we picture some Bald Green Headed Monster with 6 arms and a Ray Gun floating around it a Saucer. Why do we always presume that life outside of earth is so enourmously technologically advance than us. We dismiss the possibility all to often that life is ever so similar to us, perhaps even younger and more primitive than us.

I always thought of writing a Sci-Fi novel of human spacetravel with aliens, however these Aliens would like us be fairly primitive and perhaps more nomadic, they two have fascinated that the universe is full of life. It would even be nice to see a director produce a Sci-Fi Movie on this scale to fight this stereotype that all Alien life is usually portrayed as at the moment.

Its just a thought I found amusing.

Quite amusing indeed. Yeah, it always seems that aliens are so much smarter than humans. But I guess the sci-fi writers have to make it that way. I mean, who would really be scared by a race of dumb aliens who accidentally crashed on the earth.

Yeah, that'd be pretty cool.

Any species that can get to Earth would necessarily be way more advanced than us. Like you said, we can't even get out of our own solar system. Anyone able to to find out about us from their planet, and then send a manned vessel to meet us in any reasonable time frame would have to be way more advanced than us.

So for all the "Aliens invade earth" plots, it kind of has to work like that. Imagine a story where we're invaded by green, musket-wielding aliens and their fleet of steam-powered spaceships.

If there is intelligent life out there (and there probably is) there really isn't any reason to assume that they're must smarter than us, but if they come here, they have to be.

Jawa Joey brings up a good point. Any species that can get to another planet (which we can't) must be smarter than we are.

Perhaps not. We could send a person to mars. They wouldnt survive for very long or maybe not even survive the trip. Perhaps its is because they choose not to go to another planet not because they can't.

What you are saying is very true. Most science fiction is presented with the same or similar outlines. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it, but it would be nice for a change. Why not write a story about how we are more advanced than alien races, and we invade their planet one day, or something...

Either way, someone has to advance first.
