Here are my thaughts on Anakin,

We are introduced to Anakin Skywalker as a nine year old boy.
He his living on Tatooine with his mother Shmi. They are slaves.
Watto is there owner.
Anakin has the ability to "see" things before they happen.
Qui-Gon meets Anakin and is able to secure his release from Watto.
Shmi, unfortunaltly, must stay. She is not allowed to leave.

ATOTC-- Anakin is an impatiant padawan learner. His mentor Obi-Wan is trying to train him in the ways of the Jedi Knights. Anakin has a great deal of trouble controling his anger. He has a "friend" Palpatine telling him,
you can do anything.
Anakin gets an asignment. Escort Senater Amadala back to Naboo.
Guess who set that up.
Anakin falls in love. Padme falls in love. The agree to keep there relationship a secret. Secrets are never good. But they do it anyway.
In the end they will marry.

ROTS-- Now Anakin's life is really complicated. He is being told the he is the "Chosen One." Anakin is going to bring balance to the Force.
Anakin is a hero without fear.
Anakin and Obi-Wan "rescue" Palpatine. They come back to Coruasnt Heros. Ankakin rushes into Padme's arms. Happy and Elated to see her.
Padme says she's pregnat. They are going to be parents..
Anakin has mixed emotions. He's a Jedi. He's got obligations.
He has nightmears about loosing everthing.
Palpatine offers a solution. Learn to use the Dark Side of the Force.
Learn how to cheat death.
Anakin gives into his fear. Something, we learn later Luke did not.
Anakin looses everything he held dear, because he has let his emotions
dictate his actions. He did not stop to think about the consequences of his actions.
Luke/ Anakin. Father and Son. One raised by an Aunt an Uncle.
The other, by the Jedi after the age of nine. Loosing his Mom, IMO was a breaking point for Anakin. He needed to reach out to Obi-Wan. He needed "train yourself to let go of all you fear to loose." Perhaps if Anakin had listened to Yoda, or mabey if Yoda had insisted the council trust Anakin a little more, Anakin could have been there to raise his children.
Then, again what would be have to dissagree about.
The PT. You either love it or you hate it.
