Some One get this big walking carpet out of my way

A still moment in a Galaxey far, far Away.....
I don't know if this is will be as eliquent as Ami's, or as
powerfull as JMF but here goes.......

Luke Skywalker was a better man than his father. He knew how to deal with the pain of the moment when your realize that your innacence of youth has just been shoot to hell. The difference is in their up-bringing.

Luke with his Aunt and Uncle. Anakin was only with his mom until the age of 10. He then was thrust into a world in which he was completley lost.
He tried too hard to please everyone. No one was willing to let Anakin just be Anakin.

Now for Luke,

Luke stumbles accross a recording in R2's memory while cleaning him.
He thinks " all I have to do is return the robot to old Ben. " His uncle tells him to forget it. The droids are theirs now.
R2 leaves to go look for Ben. Luke runs after him. They find Ben and after a while Luke says he needs to head home.

He gets home to find the house burnt to the ground. His Aunt and Uncle dead. He turns to Ben -- there is nothing for me here now. I want to go to Alderan and learn the ways of the force. I want to become a Jedi like my Father.

Along the way he learns: Vader is his father. Leia is his sister. Ben dies at the hands of Vader.( mabey) How does he deal with it all? He leans on his true friends. Yoda, ghostly Ben, Han and Leia.

Myself: my innasense of youth was destroyed about 15 yrs ago.
A lady ( I use that term loosely) I thaught was my friend stabbed me in the back with EVERYTHING I ever said to her. The pain was ..... well.... I would have rather been Anakin burning on Mustafar.
Anyway.. after the dust settled I was left by myself with only my mom to help me deal with the fall out. Thank God for Mom's:)

Then along came the re-realeas of Star Wars. Star Wars on the big screen.
WoW!! It totally re-juvinated my whole perspective on all the junkd I'd been dealing with.

Who knew this movie about Luke, Leia and Han could make such a difference.
To me Star Wars is therapy. Any one else feel the same?

You all have a wonderfull day. I'll talk to you all later on this afternoon.

Therapy? You have no idea.... ;) Why do you think I'm sitting here all afternoon responding oto every....single....one of these blogs?!? :D I think can tell which one it was by your words, but did you forget to link your still?

Aahhh...the innocence of youth...it truly is a shame that at some point we all lose it. Unfortunately, it seems as though that innocence is being lost at younger ages these days. Although not an overprotective mom, I try as best as I can to allow my children to explore, nurture and cherish their innocence. I do believe that Star Wars - as strange as that may seem - does help in that venture.

Catch you later! :D

no matter how bad life treats us sometimes, eventually we discover that we can rise above the bad stuff, especially if we have things that help get us through, like good friends and a good community, which we have right here at SW.com.

Ive said it many times before, blogging can not only be a lot of FUN but also a great form of therapy thats a LOT cheaper than a shrink LOL....

Such a compelling story it is, and that is why it resonates so deeply with all of us. At least that's my take on the entire situation.

Thank God for Mom's

Ain't it the truth, leia! :D

You're not alone. Obi-Wan took an entire generation along with him to Mos Eisley, and set all of us on the path of trying to become Jedi (each in his/her own way). As you said, it's all just another form of self-help. It's just more fun than the others. ;)

Def bee there, SW is the best therapy! It helped me out so much at a very difficult time, just as its helped countless others. Where would we be without SW? :)

I know I do!!! I for one find various similarities between family members and the characters of the GFFA. It kinda makes one step back and say "Star Wars is in my life!"

Interesting perspective about Anakin and Luke. I hadn't thought about their comparative upbringing beyond the "they are both from Tatooine," etc.

Sorry to hear about your former friend.

To me Star Wars is therapy. Any one else feel the same? Oh my gosh, YES!!! I always use the movies when I'm stressed or am having trouble dealing.....sometimes I'll use one as a sleep-aid--not because I in any way think they're boring, but because I feel soooo relaxed when I watch!

Don't forget, I'm always here for you, sweetie!!:x :x

Loved this entry!! :D

I'm sorry to hear that someone hurt you so badly, but I am glad you are healing.

It's amazing to me how God uses movies to help in the healing process. I know it's happened to me, too.

I think you are right about the differences between Luke and Anakin. Luke never lived under slavery and had a father and mother in his uncle and aunt; Anakin had the stigma of being a slave and had only his mom to combat all the negatives. On top of that, you're right again, things moved too fast for him; while Luke had time to grow.

Great blog!

1st: IMO when Anakin's mom died, that's when his soul started dieing.
2nd: I've said before: God's faith in us is trully wonderfull:)
