Anakin Skywalker was reckless. He was good at "thinking on his feet". The decisions he made were not always the best ones for the situation he was in. He looked upon Obi-Wan as a mentor, friend, father, and brother.
The only thing I know about Qui-Gon is TPM. I have not read a lot of SW's books. Let's say Qui-Gon was reckless in his early days as a padawan, just like Anakin. Obi-Wan says he was in ESB.
For Obi-Wan how do go about controling the reckless tendency's of your young padawan even after he becomes you "eqaul" as a Jedi Knight, when you look at him and see yourself. Better yet, how do you keep your young apprentice from doing things that will forever change is destiny.
We all know how the story ends, Anakin became Darth Vader, only to be redemed by his son 20rys later. How painfull that must have been for
Obi-Wan. Good thing he had Qui-Gon to talk to all those years.
