Or does everyone else also think dogs walking on their hind legs are funny?
Especially when they are dressed up in human clothes - now that's funny!
I want to see prime time shows like this with stories and characters. That would be so great. Could throw a few cats in there too (no celebrity voices though okay).
Now that we have that straightened out, have a lovely week
Mike

Howdy.
Dogs walking on their hind legs? Absolutely!
I have a friend back in England whom I went to art college with, I've known him for 25 years, and we still send each other bichon frise calendars every xmas purely because of how ridiculous they are and how much they make us laugh.
I'm heading back to blighty this year for xmas - and have found the ultimate pressie in Japan Town in S.F. - a book of dressed up dogs which quite frankly almost killed me in the bookstore.
It may well do us both in this xmas, but at least we'll die laughing.
Every so often on TCM, they show some old B&W shorts featuring dressed up dogs in adventures - absolutely hysterical.
If I remember the titles I'll repost.

OK - I did some digging and found a page on the TCM website that has all you need
Go here to find a bunch of videos to watch which illustrate my above comment on the old dog movies.
The series was called The Dogville Comedy and was an extremely popular shorts series way back in the day before animals had rights
Enjoy.

Fantastic!!!
That book sounds great. I'll check out those TCM movies as soon as I can coax my computer into playing Windows media files.
I found an interesting mention of some re-versioned silents from the Hal Roach lot called The Dippy Doo Dads. It seems Mel Blanc added voices decades later and one of them is on the Looney Tunes Golden Collection V2.
From what I've read, a lot of these may have been Chimps but I remember Stan Laurel's son in law showing a Dippy Doo Dads that was all dogs - playing out a western with bar room piano players and all that good stuff. It was too funny!
Unable to find any pictures though.
Not sure what this has to do with Star Wars though but a Wookie wearing formal black tie would be somewhat amusing.

I guess I'll step up and be your gratuitous vote of discontent (don't want anyone saying we just kiss up to Veeps around here).
I don't know, I've just never been a fan of the animals-as-people deals (in live-action, I mean. Disney, WB, all the others does great work in the animated realm, stuff like that I don't mind). I can appreciate a good animal actor (like the Jack Russel on Fraiser), but not the clothed variety.
Chimps, dogs, cats (good luck with that one), lizards, even the old circus bears. Just not my cup o' tea.
But, hey, if ya go for the show, I wish ya the best (see, my requisite kissing up).

Well, that depends on the type of walk. I mean, it could be any one of the following and more...
Elvis walk - Elvis has left the building...
The Beetles walk - she loves you yeah yeah yeah...
The Michael Jackson walk - And this is thriller...
Especially when they are dressed up in human clothes - now that's funny!
Even in a yellow-poka-doted-bikini

I've got Trader Hound and So Quiet on the Canine Front on DVD - let me know if you're interested and I'll smuggle them into C4

I used to have a wire-haired fox terrier who walked on her front paws.
Only when she was on a leash, so that made dog walking chores doubly embarrassing.
My collie cross regularly walked on his back legs, could operate light switches and door handls. I suspect he was a bothan spy in deep cover tho...
As for a TV show with hindleg walking #####es and other dumb animals, you've never seen Footballers Wives or any of the I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here 'reality' shows?

Okay, so circus bears might not be funny.... but hoy diggetty-dog, that Dogway Melody is genius!!! Or as they say in England, it's the dog's Bo#*&@#'s!
It's awesome. They even used little bits of puppetry in there. How about that?
Anyway, it's made my weekend complete!!!
Thanks all

Now now.... "Atomic Mutation" from Monty Python is an excellent example of how wonderfully funny cats walking on their hind legs can be.
And equally funny when you reinact it with your own cat.

Dogs on hind legs - quality, same for cats.
But this blog is worth it all purely for Mike saying it's the dog's Bo#*&@#'s!
Can't remember what her name was, but the winner of the Oscar for best make up last year was from the UK and she said the same thing - "Or as we say back home, this is the dog's Bo#*&@#'s"
