A Very Merry Unbirthday to Me!
A very merry unbirthday
To me
To who?
To me
Oh, you

A very merry unbirthday
To you
Who, me?
To you
Oh, me
!!!!

I just had to share this:

One of my students asked me this week when my birthday is. I answered "July 16." She said: "Oh, why do you have to have a summer birthday?!?"

Well, today she brought me in a little goodie bag and said "Happy Unbirthday to my favorite teacher!" Inside was a SW play Vader mask, a Vader birthday candle and a button that has Vader on it and says "Birthday Jedi!" She also added some candy to the bag as well. How sweet is THAT??

So, I wore my button at school all day. When someone asked if it was my birthday, I just smiled and said "Why, yes it is!" I got a lot of nice "birthday" wishes today, and it was the nicest surprise I've gotten in a while!

Like I said..I just had to share! :D have a great weekend, y'all! ;)

HAPPY UNBIRTHDAY TO YOU!

As if there ever was any doubt, now you know how much your students love you (for, even if this kind gesture was on the part of one student, her setiments are those of her classmates, I am sure. :D)

What a sweet entry!

It cheered me as I sit here jealously facing the traffic back up of folks heading into Boston for the Sox game tonight.

Sound like you are blessed with a great group of kids.

Happy un-birthday to you, indeed!

Have a fantastic weekend.

I'm so glad she took care of you, my friend! It was a great surprise, indeed! :)

now you know how much your students love you It sure is a great reminder - of course, I'd like to say that ALL of them feel that way about me, but alas I KNOW that's not true! :p

Sound like you are blessed with a great group of kids. It really is a great school district - I am indeed blessed! glad I cheered you up - and you have a great weekend as well! :D

way to go with getting an extra birthday in there Thanks! You know, many people dread their birthdays as they get older...not me! I could be the "birthday girl" every day of the year ;)

That is so incredibly sweet!!! What a great teacher you must be.... :x :x

It also shows that some parents out there are doing a good job of teaching their kids how to respect & appreciate their teachers. Too often that little lesson is ignored altogether.... :(

HAPPY UN-BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

:^OKidding!!!

I wanted to say, Aw, sweet, but that was taken, and So sweet had also been taken, so I thought I'd stir things up a bit.;):D
Swe... Lovely story. It brought a smile to my face. I have a summer birthday too, I wonder if one of my students would take the hint if I shared your story with them?;)

a frequently thankless job at that. And a shame that it is - you are there taking care of those sick kids...well, you ARE appreciated, even though you may not always feel that way! :x

some parents out there are doing a good job of teaching their kids how to respect & appreciate their teachers I never thought of it that way! :) Actually, this gal doesn't really have much of a home life as it is, so it was really an incredibly selfless gesture on her part.

What a little brown-noser.
LOL! :^O Yes, drop those hints...you never know! You teach elementary, right? Perhaps you could draw one person's name out of a "hat" and just celebrate someone's un-birthday every day! How fun would THAT be?! :D

Happy un-birthday! What a sweetheart you have in that student! JediMelinda is right...it's a reflection on how your students feel about you.

A very merry unbirthday, indeed! :x That's so wonderful! CONGRATS to you, favorite teacher.;)

I must tell you that our blogging buddies who surprised me on my birthday this summer included a Vader candle & "Birthday Jedi" button. (I wore the button too.;)) So, I have to ask about the Vader candle-- is his "lightsaber" a little red candle, like the kind you usually find on b-day cakes? If we have the same one, that would be so cool!B-)

I'm going to try that! I let you know how it goes Awesome! I'd do it myself, but I have over 120 students throughout the day...it would break me if I did it for every class, so I guess I'll just have to keep letting them bring me the presents :p :^O

maybe she should have gotten you some Star Wars UN-derwear...

(ok that was truly lame, I can do better than that...)

I guess it was her way of showing her UN-dying devotion to you...?
