It's Been Two Years...
It's been 84 years, and I can still smell the fresh paint.
-Rose Dawson Calvert, Titanic

Ok, so it hasn't been 84 years...it's been two...but I still feel like I can smell the paint of the exhibit in the Vader Project! (Unfortunately I can also recall the scent on the non-working deodorant of some of those who were in costume all day long...:p)

Two years since Celebration IV. Wow.

this past weekend, I pulled out my photo album/scrapbook of that magical weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center. I recalled all the sweet memories of meeting other bloggers for the first time IRL, reaquainting with others, and just taking in all of the sights and sounds of the 30th celebration of our beloved saga.

Since then, as much has changed as has stayed the same.

We don't see as much overall traffic on the blogs as we used to (except for our beloved Stooge, who tirelessly brings us our much-needed joke-of-the-day), and some of us (especially me, I'll admit) have not written much in the last year. I still look at/read many of the entries, but I find myself being more selective these days. Not that I'm trying to be a stuck up, half-witted....oh, you know the rest...but just like the rest of our lives, there comes a time to pick our battles.

Friendships and acquaintences have morphed in the ebb and flow of life over the last two years as well. I certainly feel much closer to some, and my relationships with others have faded; even becoming somewhat disappointing, or disintegrating completely. I don't fault anyone - it's just how life is. We grow, we change and we evolve.

One thing that will never change is how Star Wars has touched - and continues to touch - all our lives. I am grateful for this arena where we can all come together, despite our differences, and share a common love.

I wish all of you the best in your lives - no matter what direction your lives may take - and hope that the Force always has a hold on you in some way!

I closing, I feel the need to share a couple of photos. Take a walk down memory lane, if you wish!

I still will never forgive myself for not getting out there. We just couldn't do it financially then. I could make it work now, but I don't see C V planned anytime soon.

Like Darth Rex, I kick myself for not going to C IV.
It is amazing the roads life takes us on. The good and the bad make us who we are.

Personally, I met Galactic Babe two years ago and we still talk. It's cool!!!
Stooge keeps me comming back to check the site everyday.

You have a great summer. Enjoy the time at home with your boys!!

It is amazing the roads life takes us on. The good and the bad make us who we are. ...Yup...those roads can be rough, and some of us are still figuring out who we really are...but in the end the journey is worth it! Blogger Meet-and-Greet That party was one of the many highlights of the week. It was awesome meeting everybody.

Waiting in lines...it's all about the journey! so true! those lines were perfect opportunities to get to know each other. What else are we going to do?

that week was easily one of the biggest weeks of my life. I met so many people that have become close friends and have helped me tremendously over the last year.

Thanks for bringing back some great memories. Have a great summer.

one of the many highlights of the week Yeah..I felt like it was my freshman year in college, and I'm sitting there with my thick textbook and highlighter, wondering what I should highlight...I almost grabbed a BLACK marker and struck through the little bit I felt I didn't need to know...that's how CIV was for me...almost ALL highlights, very little black!! :D My prayers are with you right now, gencrs...a birdie told me you're going through some tough times right now... :x

Good gravy, two years? Good gravy, good golly, good dog....! :p I know, time flies...! :O!

love you, Mamadala. Miss you, too! You too, honey. Honestly, you're one of the sweetest, most REAL people I know. I realize I haven't been around lately (many reasons for that...always on the move ;) ), but you're always in my thoughts. Congrats on the school gig, too BTW! :D :x

Simply beautiful, Mamadala!. :x

I can't believe I've been here long enough to remember "the good ol' days"!

that week was easily one of the biggest weeks of my life. I met so many people that have become close friends and have helped me tremendously over the last year.
Took the words right out of my mouth.

Here's to CV - I look forward to meeting the bloggers that I didn't meet at CIV. :x

It could be that a lot of people who were there are no longer here, for whatever reasons good or bad.
