Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (after watching ROTS)
After what has been the longes time ever, here comes the second part of how i view the OT after watching ROTS (eventually i'll get to Episodes I and II aswell).

Characters that stand out in my mind:

* Darth Vader: I truly felt his sense of urgency and longing to find young Skywalker..is it because he wants to find Luke before the Emperor does? is it because he was reminded of Padmé and his old life and all of those feelings resurfaced?..i truly cant decide...yet :p... but the urgency is there...i also find it cool when Vader pretty much gives Luke the same line he gave Padmé about ruling the galaxy together...at this point even though he's probably happy to find Luke, he's still selfish, arrogant and greedy, so as much as he maybe feels good about Luke, the darkside is still pretty much dominating his life.

* Obi Wan Kenobi and Yoda: Obi Wan's part as a mentor really starts to shine in this one..i was so thrilled when he instructs Luke to go to Dagobah to see Yoda..YES!..we get to see the "little green friend" once more and i really noticed OT Yoda for sure isnt the same as PT...i think these two characters (Yoda and Obi Wan) have really matured and broadened their view and have become much wiser, maybe recognizing where they failed that allowed the sith to return, but instead of dweling on it, they trained to be ready for when the chance to remove the sith came around once more (and they knew it would come with the twins grown up).

* R2-D2 and C-3PO: R2 is still pretty much the hero of the whole saga, now flying and guiding (wink wink) Luke in his path, like he used to do with his father before ... 3PO gets even more annoying and i gotta say, i LOVE the interactions between him and Han..that's just hilarious

* Luke and Leia: I can see still the innocence in Luke, even though he was older than ep IV he still very much is clueless as to the reality of everything about him, and is when he starts to train with Yoda that he starts maturing. Obviously, the duel with Vader, whom he thinks as his father's murderer is THE event that changes Luke's life forever...after that, all of his innocence i really believe is gone; his world is shattered... and Leia is headstrong and such a big reminder of Padmé: she's hands on, does what she has to do and yet finds a way to fall in love ;/ , though in her case, Leia goes about it much wiser than maybe her mother did (and of course Han was just a scoundrel, not boardering the darkside lol)

* Han Solo: i REALLY fell in love with this character in this one, even though i loved him in ANH and as i said above, i really enjoyed his interactions with 3PO cause they're just extremely funny :^O

There´s also scenes from the movie that somehow just seem different now after watching ROTS, among them:

* The landing on Dagobah: the excitement of knowing whom Luke is going to encounter and what's gonna hapen is great...i really think ppl should watch the saga in order, because that makes this moment even more exctiging cause we already KNOW Yoda...we just havent seen him in a while ;)

* Vader talking to the Emperor: i love this scene because it's as if Palpatine is thinking "yeah, u cant fool me, i know he's ur son and now i'll make things hapen to exchange u for him"..and also i feel Vader gets kind of protective ("he's just a boy, Obi Wan can no longer help him")..is it safe to assume that Vader thinks Yoda died? that maybe Palpatine didnt comment confronting him and that they didnt find Yoda's body? could it be? who knows :p

* Reappearance of Bobba Fett: i havent really been a huge fan like others, but it was cool to see the man in the armor again, specially knowing where he really comes from and what he represents .. there also seems to be a familiarity between Fett and Vader, so it appears that they have worked together before .. i would hope they expand on what hapens with Bobba after Geonosis, because i'm intrigued as to what he does until we see him on this movie :)

* Darth Vader vs Luke Skywalker: oh man...i cant even magine what Vader was "thinking", because i know Luke was just thinking "u murdered my father so ur my enemy..i must destroy u"... as they start dueling Vader starts to realize Luke isnt just a little boy, but he actually has a lot of potencial and the force is strong with him and starts thinking that he should try and get Luke to his side, so that they can both overthrow the Emperor and "make things right", wich is where we get to the shocking part, because since he sees he cant turn Luke to his side by just "racional" convincing, he decides to use the ace he has: "no *I* am ur father"..man oh man! .. this part was a shocker when we didnt have the PT, but now my shock isnt as much that bit of news itself, but what is Luke going to think of it .. so we get another "NOoooOOoo" *gigglin* and Luke does what he needs to do in order to escape, since he feels he cant/wont kill his own father.

I really think Empire was very much enhaced even more for me after watching ROTS (even though it wasnt my favorite one like it is for most ppl) and it just gives a lot more depth to the characters and the story, because we KNOW so much more.

I'll keep updating this one as i continue to think of more interesting bits to add, this is just my inmediate impression after watching it.

If it interests u, keep checking back for the next chapter: my views on ROTJ (and i promise i wont take as long with it as i took with this one ;

Feel free to leave ur comments after the beep :p *beep!*
