Harvey Korman 1927 - 2008
Harvey Korman, who played several roles in the Star Wars Holiday Special, died today at UCLA Medical Center after suffering complications from the rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm four months ago, his family said in a statement released by the hospital. He was 81 years old.

Korman is best known for his role in the enormously popular, award-winning Carol Burnett Show which ran from 1967 - 1978. The showed was headlined by Carol Burnett and featured Harvey Korman, Tim Conway and Vicki Lawrence. The show and all the cast members had won Emmys and many other accolades for their contributions to the wonderful show.

Korman and Tim Conway toured together from 1999 - 2004 in the Tim Conway & Harvey Korman: Together Again tour and had one final fling in 2006 with their show, Tim Conway & Harvey Korman: Together Again Farewell Tour.

Oh my! That makes me so sad! I grew up watching him on Carol Burnett! His part on the Holiday Special was so silly, but they were lucky to have him be a part of it.

RIP!!

I have a lot of fond memories of Harvey Korman in the Carol Burnett Show and I think it's fair to say that he stole the show in the "Star Wars Holiday Special", I think he played at least three characters.

I hope he is at peace.

Although the Holiday Special was flat out silly, he will be truly missed.

I grew up watching him on Carol Burnett!
Me too. He and Tim Conway were an unbeatable team. The best was Tim would try to make him laugh, and it usually worked! He was also brilliant in Blazing Saddles.

I remember watching the Holiday Special (and of course Carol Burnett) growing up. Though the Holiday Special was more of a blur/faded memory (understandably), I still to this day remember his female chef character with the multiple arms going "stir, whip, stir, whip, whip, whip, stir."

May Harvey be one with the Force.
