David Joel Corroney (1945-2006)

If you scroll back through my blog entries, a number of them were notices of the passing of someone special, someone tied to our greater Star Wars community. Sadly, today I have learned of another passing. Star Wars artist Joe Corroney recently lost his father and has posted a memorial entry on his blog Drawing in the Empire. If you occasionally stop by to read my blog, regularly read Joe's, or just enjoy his artwork, visit his blog and let him know that this week he's in our thoughts and prayers.

date Posted: Apr 17, 2006 9:48 PM The thing that has struck me most as a Star Wars fan, is how close a community we have become. How much support and sympathy can be found during times of loss. How many encouraging words and congratulations in times of joy and happiness.

date Posted: Apr 18, 2006 7:50 PM Absolutely. I've been posting for less than a year, and I've been pleasantly surprised. I've seen some bloggers who are going through a crisis or who just want to report good news, and the responses have been immediate and supportive. I've also seen entries where it's the blogger's first time posting here, and the responses are welcoming and inviting.
