Monday during lunch I browsed through my usual checklist of internet sites. I have a lunch break routine of dropping in on four sites that regularly hold my interest. My buddy Ed's livejournal, the message boards of Jan Duursema and Tom Mandrake, and the Star Wars blog of my pal Joe Corroney. It was then I learned of the passing of Joe's father. Today I checked in on the livejournal of another friend-in-Star-Wars named Roseanna. I met Roseanna through Joe actually. Today she announced the loss of her own father on Monday.
While attempting to think of the right words of comfort to try and send out to a second friend, I was among the recipients of a mass email from Phil Pankow announcing the death of John Guth, founder and president of the Seattle Star Wars Society. Some of you may remember him as one of two fans (along with Jeff Tweiten) who waited in line for over 5 months outside a Seattle theatre for Episode II. It was during that wait that I had the pleasure of exchanging a few emails with John, and posts on the SSWS message boards.
Right now I'm at a loss for words. Everyone is in my thoughts and in my heart.
