I had the chance to take a couple days off work and extend my Memorial Day Weekend last month. The wife and I headed back to Kentucky for a mini-family reunion on my mom's side. This post links to
pics from the trip, and is mostly for the family back east, but feel free to check 'em out and follow along even if you are just browsing through.
In addition to just crowding and causing chaos at my grandparents' house, I got to see my cousin
Brandon play ball, my cousins
Boone and Meredith play hide and seek, and my cousin
Claire's dance recital. I wasn't allowed to use flash in the recital, so the pics are slightly out of focus. There is also a
video, just click on the button with the movie camera and follow the girl in the middle of the frame who adds her own stylish twirls.

Part of us also went to see the Reds/Diamondbacks game that Sunday, the first time I've been to
Cincinnati's new ballpark.
The family is spread out in age, with the spread increasing with each successive generation. My mom is the oldest of six. The youngest, my uncle Greg, is a year older than me. I'm the oldest grandchild, Greg's daughter Meredith is the youngest. There's over 30 years difference in age between me and Meredith, with six others spread in between. So someone always has something going on when we visit. Unfortunately I didn't make it over to see the other ball player in the family. My cousin Tom had a baseball tournament that weekend, I just couldn't fit a game in. Guess we'll have to get together and do it again next year!
