I just finished wathing episode 1 again and wondered since Palpatine is the Sith Lord did he use the force to influence the votes of the people who voted him in or what. It could just be a plot device, but without use of the force what are the chances that Palpatine would have nominated out of all of the other senators? Also did Palpatine use the force to make Jar Jar elect to give him emergency powers, because Jar Jar doesn't like such a bumbling idiot anymore. One more thing, why did the chancellor's guard's suits change from Mohawk/Roman soldier guys to blue versions of his guards from th OT?
