It has been a while since I have blogged, but I do assure you that my Star Wars life has been fully alive. As always, an opportunity always presents itself to be tied into Star Wars. In my English 10 class, we have a paper and do a speech on that paper the following week. So be it an 8-page research, demonstrative, informative, or persuasive paper, I have been able to make then all about Star Wars.
I love it when I prove someone wrong, especially a Star Wars hater, like a fellow student in my English class who told me there was no way I could write an 8-page research paper on the Star Wars universe as a whole. I took that bet one step further and decided to make it on the history of the Sith and Jedi. Despite not being able to use wookiepedia, I was able to finish the rough draft easily , but just one problem...I had about a 15 page, watered down version of the history of the Sith and Jedi. For the better of the paper, and also because it took less time, I shrunk it down to just about the history of the Sith. I am proud to say I got a 96% on the paper, but more importantly, the respect of my fandom from my class.
When I go on my little Star Wars rampages, like the one last week when I just went off about how Jacen Solo is just a twisted villain, it is usually followed by the blank stares from everyone in my class...but hey, it's ok because I got it all off my chest.
Possibly the oddest task I have ever undertaken is the one I just finished, my demonstrative speech on how to wield a lightsaber. Trust me, I am nothing spectacular, but the looks on everyones face when I just got done demonstrating lightsaber form VII, Vapaad, was priceless. I was challenged to a fight against my Star Wars loathing friend during lunch, where I ended up victorious, so chalk one up for all you dark side users out there!
But in the near future I hope to post my history of the Sith paper a little later on, and since reading both Darth Bane books, Shatterpoint, Outbound Flight and Alligence I hope to get my thoughts out about those books, and of course the Clone Wars series and The Force Unleashed game. Hope to talk to ya soon.
