If nobody hears a tree fall in the forest - does it make a sound?

Organized Chaos (a.k.a. Randomity)
Oh my goodness it's good to be here! I was seriously going through a sort of semi-depressed relapse thing from not blogging. I was trying to wait until I had a perfect subject to blog on, but that's not coming fast enough so I'm going to make it up right now.

Let's see. Star Wars. . . Skywalkers. . . Solos. . . Jedi. . . Sith. . . The Force. . . Mastery. . . Troops. . . Commandos. . . Commandos! Oh yeah! I had bought both Republic Commando books (Hard Contact and Triple Zero) and I just finished Hard Contact the other day. That was an awesome book. It brings more humanity to the clones, and the commandos are some of the best clones around. The plot was pretty good, but the emphasis on the commandos and how they think was staggering. It's like they feel just as much as any human, but are completely dedicated to their given task and will not deviate period. It also talked about the HUD's in their helmets, which was pretty cool. I'd read a bit about the HUDs in one of the books I read starring the ultimate bounty hunter; Boba Fett! But it's always cool to know more.

Speaking of which, did you guys know that Boba Fett never had anything against Han personally? The only reason he kept going after him was because he kept getting contracted to collect him. I thought that was pretty interesting. And if you've read anything in LOTF to dispute this or verify it, please don't mention it on account of many people not being current in the series. Thank you!

I'm kind of random I know, but I just thought of something. In ANH when Obi-Wan, Han, Chewie, Luke, and our beloved droids got sucked into the Death Star they hide in the concealed compartments in the Falcon to avoid being detected. The infamous Darth Vader stalks up, stares at it for a minute or so , orders a scan, and then mutters to himself that he's feeling a presence he hasn't felt in. . . We all know he was referring to Obi-Wan (or even Luke I've heard) but what of Han and Chewie? Are they not worthy enough to register in the Force? :p But seriously though. Darth Vader only sensed one familiar presence - who that was is based on your own theories. I believe it was Obi-Wan, because he'd never met Han or Chewie, and if it was Padme's essence or whatever in Luke then I think he would have been somewhat joyful and not so somber. So this leaves Luke and Han and Chewie. Han and Chewie first. Why didn't they register in Vader's Force perception? I know Vader lost a lot of power at his (hehe) "christening" but I also know that over the many years he had acquired a lot of power (though not really reaching who he used to be). At any rate, you would think he'd be able to sense a scruffy looking smuggler and his furry inhuman companion who spell nothing but trouble!

And what about Luke? Luke was a Force sensitive and Vader played a large part in hunting down Force sensitives and sending them to their oneness with the Force. At the very least he should have been able to sense Luke. The fact that Luke was his son should have helped a bit. . . It makes me wonder. And then their was the protocol droid he'd made with his own hands and the droid given to him by his only love that he'd kept by his side throughout his life as a Jedi. We know how he was as Anakin so it only stands to reason that he would have subconsciously put some kind of Force print on 3PO or have poured lots of affection on 3PO via the Force while he constructed him so that he would have recognized him no matter what. SOMETHING!! He was the Chosen One after all. And then R2-D2! The droid of his only love, as well as a gift from her to him. You know Padme's scent was all over R2 in the Force. Especially since he can sense echoes in the Force of those close to him, and none was closer than Padme except maybe is mother. . .

SO! You wanna know my theory? Of course you do. You wouldn't have made it this far if you didn't:D My thought is that Obi-Wan (ever the Master of subtlety) extended his presence over all of them. With Luke, that would have been particularly easy considering he spent most of his life in Anakin's presence. And Han and Chewie? Well Luke did something similar in The Dark Nest Trilogy. He collected the Force presences of the four or five people accompanying him, and removed them (as well as his own) from the Force giving off the appearance of sudden death in the Force. I believe Obi-Wan did something like that only instead of removing them from the Force he merely dimmed them in the Force and filled in the "gap" with his own presence. He knew that Vader would never attack him in the ship as long as Vader thought he was alone, because Vader knows that a Jedi will sacrifice their life in a heartbeat if it's necessary to destroy a great evil. Obi-Wan would've simply blown the ship apart! I think Obi-Wan banked on this, and so spread his presence over them keeping them covered up until the point that they escaped. I say that because Vader wasn't even aware of their presence until he turned from his battle with Obi-Wan and actually saw them in the hangar bay. Could be another reason why Obi-Wan wanted Luke outta there so fast. He didn't want Vader to focus his senses on him. What do you think?

Whew! A wise blogger once typed "Hooray for randomity!" and I agree. Without it I would be typing endless blog after blog. . . But now I am somewhat appeased. And as for my picture? RANDOMITY!!!:D
