Boba Fett may be the ultamite bounty hunter in the galaxy, but people think he died at the Pit of Carkoon. That may only be known by non-Star Wars fans, but, as a out-come due to body armor, he survived. To all those force blind, non-Star Wars fans, he's not dead until the fat alien sings for this guy.

Just as a note, he didn't first appear in the Star Wars Christmas Special. He first appered in Episode 4. Look at the final seconds of the scene when Jabba is leaving Docking Bay 94, where the Millenium Falcon subsides on Tatooine. The last few moments of the scene depict Boba leaving the docking bay with Jabba. He's the last bounty hunter to leave.
