This Can't Be.
I just uncovered some alarming news earlier today on an episode of the Vintage ToonCast. It seems that companies like Verizon and AT&T might get a death grip on the Internet. The House of Representatives just passed a new law that can affect everyone on the Internet, turning it into an extremely high-priced tollbooth. In other words, a new Clone Wars.
Take for example this. I bet you all know of the fastest Internet search engine Google. If this bill makes it through the Senate, someone like Yahoo Inc. can pay big bucks to Verizon for a special access that can cause Google to become slower than it, therefor rerouting you to the Yahoo site because the CEO of Verizon won't allow you otherwise. Another example is right here, at blogs.starwars.com. The bill could have a skyrocketing tax on all posting and/or other activity in videos and audio on this exclusive site because your company recieved money from another site vying them to halt us.
Even someone like Comcast could attack iTunes, forwarding users to their overpriced crap they offer. Some of everyone'ss favorite podcasts and sites are already being attacked, so please, stop this NOW!
