Well, I just got back from vacation and I had a great time. I did not do much, but I did go to Disneyland and rode, for the 50th time, Star Tours, checked out the Star Wars store in the Disneyland park, and also just hung out with family and friends and played some Counter Strike and World of Warcraft with my brothers. In the end, it was a great time.
On returning home, I was able to add to my collection of Star Wars items with two full sets of the 1980's Star Wars Burger King exclusive Drinking Glasses. A friend of mine at work, who's mom had died a couple months before, had gone through some items in the attic and came across these glasses. His first thought was to ask me, so I asked him to bring them in so I could take a look at them. To my suprise, the glasses had been wrapped, individually, in burger king bags that were yellow from age, telling me that his Mother had wrapped them and kept them unused for nearly 2 decades. The paint was in perfect condition with no wear. He had 2 full sets of Empire Strikes Back and 2 full sets of Return of the Jedi. I gave him 30 dollars for both sets (I did not think they were worth that much in book value, but I'm not a book value collector. I collect for my own personal value and appreicated him thinking of me so that's why I gave him as much as I did). I'm happy with them and now they are in a glass wear box, packed with the dividers waiting for me to get around to placing them on my collection shelf for viewing. I do not like to put my stuff in boxes and forget about them. What's the fun in that.
I was also notified that my Star Wars Celebration III T-shirt and poster are to arrive in the next couple of days. That's great news considering when I attended CIII I was not able to get those items due to the lack of orginization with the CIII store. Oh well, that was my only complaint about CIII so I would have to say I still had an AWESOME time.
One last note, Waldenbooks called me a couple days ago to tell me that my Cinema of George Lucas book had arrived, so today I purchased it and I am very very pleased with the contents. Lost of good reading and photos. The book will look great on my coffe table next to my glass chess set. Gives it a certain suttle Star Wars fan touch without the giant obvious Star Wars look.
