 | Putting my Star Wars thoughts into words or a blog entry |
I'm a huge Star Wars fan, make no mistake about that. One of the things that I say a lot to people when describing how big a fan I am is that, "I'm such a big fan of Star Wars, that I could do a lecture on it".
I feel that I could write entire essays on why I love it so much, what I love about it, my thoughts on it, great things about it few people notice, philosophical stuff in Star Wars, its politics.... anything related to Star Wars.
So, when I heard about Star Wars blogs being offered to Hyperspace members, I thought great, now I can finally put all of my great SW thoughts into proper words and put them up on a place where other fans can read it.
But, I find that it is very, very much more diffifult to do so than I thought. I have like a billion great SW-related thoughts, but when I try to write them out, I can't. Why's that? I don't know.
Could it be that I love Star Wars less than I think so? No, no, that couldn't be the case. I think one of the reasons is that I do not have enough time to do so. But the main reason I think is that as much as I love Star Wars, it's not my story, it's not something I created. I don't like writing about something which I wasn't responsible for nearly as much as something which I'm responsible for.
Right now, I'm in the midst of writing a great epic story. If I were to write articles about it or just comment on it, I think I could. I could rant on about it on and on and on. But not that much for Star Wars.
So, here's what I think about me writing or speaking my thoughts on Star Wars: it's a lot like a filmmaker doing a commentary on a film he didn't do. But that same filmmaker is likely to be more willing, find it easier, and have many, many more things to say about his own film.
Looking around at all the other great blog entries here on blogs.starwars.com, I just wish that I could somehow find it easier to communicate all my Star Wars related thoughts. Well, I guess my statement of "I'm such a big fan of Star Wars, that I could do a lecture on it." isn't true afterall.

Well, you can try focusing on one important thought at a time and write it properly, then continue with another one. It always works for my essays. Happy blogging!

The most important things are the hardest to say
True words spoken my a man of far greater wisdom than myself, he was refering to how difficult it is for thoughts and feelings to become tangible words. The difficulty increases proportionally to how special the thoughts and feelings are, and admiration for an epic Saga is no different. If it really bothers you, try simply typing (or writing) anything that pops into your head, and I mean anything. It works for me, at least

You don't know the number of people that join and begin blogging not knowing that, chances are, their topic has already been covered. Glad to see you did that. However, I don't mind the ones that have original thoughts on the same topic. I have a hard time finding topics to blog about as well, but no worries, it all works out in the end.......

Rayten, just like you, I find it very difficult to put my thoughts into words and then out to the public on a blog. I have been amassing a "lecture" of my own. In fact a friend of mine called it a dissertation because it is so large...but unfortunately I've "hit the wall" with writer's block. What's more ironic, is that for as long as I've been reading the SW message boards and blogs, I have never responded to anything....EVER. Until today, in which I have now responded to 2 of your GREAT entries. Maybe it is not as hard as you think. For the record, one day I plan on putting my ideas out there for others to read. At least you've gotten that far. Like cestus183 says, one thought at a time. Keep up the good work.
