I actually bought the Revenge of the Sith DVD twice!
It's not because I lost my first copy of the ROTS DVD, or broke it or anything like that at all. My first copy is perfectly fine as it is right now, except for one minor thing wrong about it which would not bother the average person that much, but for me, it bugged me to no end.

What am I talking about? It's the spine (or whatever you call that) of the DVD cover. You see, I bought the Canadian version, and the spine doesn't match up with the other 5 Star Wars DVDs in my collection. It has the Star Wars logo font appear twice, and the Revenge of the Sith title, annnd.... the French title: La Revanche Des Sith. The other 5 DVDs only have the English title, and more importantly, the Star Wars logo font appear only once.

Why did I buy the Canadian version, you ask? Well, 'cause the first store I came across which had it in stock had only the Canadian version. Because I had been hunting for it high and low, and was dying to watch ROTS again; I couldn't wait anymore, and just bought it right there and then.

And of course, I had it standing in between the Episode II and IV DVDs, just like every other Star Wars fan in the world. It displeased me greatly, the Episode III one, of course, for its spine stood out like a sore thumb. I didn't want to buy a brand new one which didn't have the double SW logo and the french title, for I was convinced that what really mattered was the actual content and not the covering.

But it bugged me, and it bugged me... and it bugged me, so much so that I found myself watching the ROTS DVD not that much, especially when compared to how much I watch the other SW DVDs when they were just released. So, a few months after it first came out, I finally relented, and bought the "right" version, and now I am at peace as the six DVDs stand fittingly next to each other.

I didn't get ROTS twice, but I did get AOTC twice. Since all of my SW movies were widescreen, I got the widescreen version from my friend. Long time ago, ! did not understand the difference between fullscreen & widescreen.

He he he...this is what I would do if I had 2 copies: you could play them both at the same time in 2 different places in the house. For instance, if you need to make dinner, but you're in the middle of the film, just pop one in for while you're in the kitchen while you're cookin' up a storm. Then, while you're waiting for water to boil for your Boba Fett-uccini, you can watch ROTS while sitting on your comfy couch. Who needs a pause button? ;)

The paper thing for the move, the cover and back, ripped the paper so a chunk of the paper is white. The sticker thing was attached and ripped the paper.

I didn't buy any duplucates of 1-3, but when I bought the OT set last year, it bothered me that the EP 1-3 were gold color and EP4-6 was silver. It didn't seem like they were all SW movies. Now that I bought the Limitied Editions earlier this week, they all look like they belong.

Isn't it wierd that somethings bother some people and for others, they don't even notice?:|

I hear ya! I just bought all 3 today, & all 6 DVD cases are all in their gold lettering. It feels so good! But my 2004 OT case still sits there on my desk, with all its silver glory.

I don't think having multiple copies is strange at all. I have two DVDs of Attack of the Clones. One copy is for me and it never leaves the house. I have the second copy to loan out to friends. Yes, there are actually some people in this world who have not yet seen all six episodes. Shocking isn't it?

I also still have two sets on VHS tape but they mostly collect dust now that everything is DVD.

Someday, some new and improved technology will replace DVD just as DVD replaced VHS and I'll want to buy yet another set.

I have the same with books: I only collect first-edition books, and was shocked when Dark Lord came out in the UK a few weeks before the US-version, so I had to buy it. But naturally, it had the British Century logo at the spine instead of the Del Rey-one, so just to have it look nice on the bookshelf, I bought the US hardback also... Same book, different logo...

So yes, I can understand your reason for buying two!!!

lol yea I bought both versions of all of the DvD's...why you might ask? Well lemme tell you for my bid Tv at home i prefer the Widescreen versions, but on those basketball trips to hotels with the tiny Tv's Iprefer to watch SW in full screen. I think it was a good investment lol while my friends beg to differ
