Clone Wars Adventures Vol 4
Clone Wars Adventures Volume 4 is out today!

My buddies Justin Lambros and Haden Blackman have both contributed tales of much awesomeness. Justin tells the story of how Anakin Skywalker and Serra Keto (from the Ep III video game) first met; whereas Haden thoroughly abuses some evil clone soldiers on the Wookiee world of Kashyyyk.

"Orders," my tale, tells the story of a squad of Republic Commandos who happen upon an orphaned kid, and must take him to safety. It's about the nature of orders, the clone mentality, and what happens when good men must make hard choices.

I don't want to spoiler you, but Order 66 is involved. :)

If you like clones, pick this one up. Amazon is currently offerring a bargain if you order Clone Wars Adventures Vol. 3, which contains another Republic Commando story of mine. Total clone overload!!

Hope you enjoy it.

p.s. the keen-eyed may keep an eye out for a reference to a certain fan-favorite SW author... :)

You never warned me there was clone maltreatment in this book!

Great story (and great issue) and the reference to the fanfave author was 'killing'!!! One question though: do you have some back-notes on the whereabouts of the world the story takes place (or maybe even have a planet name?)

Hope to see some more comic-stories by your hand...

Sorry, KT, it's becoming a sick CWA tradition now. I am powerless to stop it. :)

I do. The story takes place on Garqi, although that detail got lost in the editing process somewhere.

Thanks for your comments, eddie! I hope to write more in the future...

Maybe this series should be called The LucasArts Clone Wars Adventures Vol 4. .

[The three authors are all current (or former) LucasArts employees.]

They're pretty much standalone stories-- a lot like the first cartoon series. You can pick up any volume you wish, in any order.

Nice story. :)

There was something that seemed a little strange to me though...

SPOILERS

Why was the kid sadder about the death of a Jedi he had just met than about his parents dying? It seemed that way anyway...

I was happy however to see my first name (Evan) in a Star Wars story for the third time in the last year.... :D

Great story, Ryan! My favorite of all four.

Would you happen to know the numerical designations of Zag, Tyto, and Di'kut?

Hey Rainbow, thanks for your comments. I think Evan was more sad at seeing his friends turn so deadly, with no apparent remorse or hesitation. He'd come to know them as people, and to trust them. And then they turned around and -apparently- became "bad guys" (in his eyes, anyway.)

Yes, I definitely wish I'd had the time to show Evan mourning his parents' death a bit more. But 20 pages was just barely enough to cram in the story about the commandos. Next time, maybe, if JB lets me have some more room. :)

You can thank Haden Blackman for that one. I originally had the kid's name as "Ben," but he suggested "Evan", noting that Ben might be a bit confusing for readers, since that's Obi-Wan's name as well.

Sorry, I don't have anything in my notes, and I wouldn't want to contradict anything from canon, so I'll hold off for now.

I can tell you that they're all from other disabled squads, just like Sarge. And Aiwha was assembled sometime after 1 ABG.

Great story Ryan

but did you notice they miscredited the artist? Rick Lacy did they art but he's instead credited for "The Brink", while the Fillbachs are credited for your story. Their different styles are very noticeable.

I did notice that, Arleil. Yep, Rick Lacy did the art for my story, and I was very happy with his characterizations of Aiwha Squad. He infused them with lots of personality.

Ah, that does make sense. And I'd certainly say that reaction was more important to the story.

Thank you Haden Blackman! :)
