Yesterday, I encountered a major continuity error, and I need your help sorting it out.
My son Max and his 3 3/4 action figures played out a scenario that was utterly beyond belief. (He is four years old.) Now he's one of those guys that has no use for canon or continuity (possibly because he has not even been to kindergarten yet) and he totally flaunts it every chance he gets. But yesterday was too much.
Here's what happened: Ep 1 Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ep 3 Anakin Skywalker are hanging out. (Okay, already we're on shaky ground, but it's not unthinkable. Maybe Obi-Wan got a haircut and a demotion.) General Grievous (also known as "Jennifer Greebus", a possible alias) captures Anakin and chucks him into jail. (There wasn't even a trial!) Obi-Wan Kenobi recruits Commander Cody to help rescue young Skywalker.
So far so good.
Jennifer Greebus begins recruiting bad guys to help defend Anakin's jail. First, an Ep 2 clone trooper. (Uh... okay, maybe he's a deserter turned traitor.) Next, Bossk. (Alright, plausible.) Also, a Tusken Raider. (Yeah, okay, maybe he was an ambitious Tusken.) And, a Jawa. (They're vicious.) But then... Jango Fett. Followed by Darth "Bader."
Whoa whoa whoa... take a minute to contemplate Anakin Skywalker trapped in a jail by Grievous, and protected by Darth Bader. That will blow your mind faster than Trandoshan haiku, I guarantee it.
At this point, Obi-Wan admits a great fear of Jango, because last time they met, they got in a big fight. (Bear in mind this is Ep 1 Obi-Wan.) So poor Commander Cody volunteers to take on EVERYONE ELSE... even Lord Vader. (Nice going, Obi-Wuss. Ah, well, can't be too hard on him. I was actually playing him at that point.)
So there's a massive battle. Obi-Wan and Jango both fall in some lava (talk about rewriting history), Commander Cody whomps a$$ on Lord of the Sith Darth Bader (who knew clones were so tough?!) and then Anakin emerges, only to escape with Obi-Wan in the Millennium Falcon, along with Cody and a few other clones. (And an AT-AT driver.)
If any of you can make sense of this, I would be extremely grateful. I can only hope Abel Pena reads this and sorts it all out, because I am going insane.
Thanks everyone.
