Politics, schmoliticks
Normally I would be ranting and raving in the Bush thread about how this country is slowly become a totalitarian, communist state and posting links and references and reading further into the slow demise of this nation. But, for the past week, I feel detached from that. I feel that this country is turning to crap, and there's not much we as a citizenry can do.

It has been proven that voting doesn't work, and yet George W. Smirk continues to ruin our nation. How his politics can slowly move this country toward a fascist nation? Through each moment I think about this, I think of our lovely prequels comparisons to Bush's regime. Darth Grandiliquos pointed me to an article, that I would've typed up myself; Is Bush a Sith Lord?

Pathetic that people continue to revere Bush like he is a God. People continue to propel him like a pharoah of old. Baaaaaaaaa..aaaaa.

Buy me the bullet, and I'll provide the gun.

I sympathize. Bush has been driving me crazy since 9/11 and the unquestioning trust given to him by many americans is quite depressing, not to mention the labeling of anyone who disagrees with Bush as anti-american. I agree that there appears to be little for the citizens to do about it, but if we allow ourselves to give up then we might as well join the ranks of the sheep. To stop fighting and give-in is as unamerican a thing as I can think of and just short of condoning the actions we so despise. It cant be too late for things to change, not yet.

Nothing irreversible has happened. Portions of the "Patriot" Act are being challenged or even repealed, we still hear about the crimes being committed at Guantanamo Bay, we're still allowed to read and write blogs/papers/articles like this and the one you linked to that are clearly not in support of Bush and the things he stands for. It's our job to keep talking about it, keep making people think things through, and to try to utilize whatever power left to us to change things and keep the fascist nation from coming into existence. Even Palpatine might have been stopped if something had been done early enough.
