Is Darth maul a major wimp,or is Obi just amazing?
Thanks a lot to all of the people who commented on my last blog.....i'm really happy that people like me...:) (keep in mind, i'm not gonna be this personal all of the time)

okay, to business.i was reading the episode 1 book last night(or, at least, one of the novels..) and when i got to the sith fight , it struck me that even though Maul plowed through Qui-gon,one of the greatest masters of the time, and yet was destroyed by a PADAWAN(okay, it was obi-wan...)
I have always been for obi-wan.he is my favorite jedi(other then Yoda),but it still a bit odd that a padawan came on top...
A thought....anyone???

Obi-Wan's final attack was a suprise that Maul was not expecting at all. I'm guessing that Maul let his guard down long enough for Obi-Wan to strike.

Maul held his advantage for too long. He let his guard down long enough for Obi-wan to conjure up the strength to get rid of him. Also, Obi-wan's move was too quick for him to even raise his saber, much less fight back. And remember: Maul was an apprentice, too. It was his job to reveal the Sith to the Jedi, not to destroy them all...yet.

Wherever the Force may guide you, God will bless you.

RR out.

P.S. Welcome to the blogs!

I think Darth Maul just got cocky after killing Qui-Gon and didn't expect Obi-Wan, a padawan, to be much of a threat. Nice entry.

Maul was overconfident, and thought he had Obi-Wan beaten... Surprise! Obi-Wan was an apprentice, but he was well trained and strong with the Force.

Winning a fight is not determined only by power and experience - everyone has good and pad moments, and sometimes luck (or the Force) comes into play as well.

I agree with MK93 and Granny-Wan: Darth Maul just got cocky after killing Qui-Gon. But yes, Obi-Wan does rock!! :D Some (most?) around here also believe that Obi-Wan tapped into the Dark Side some during this fight because he was angry at Maul for killing his beloved master.

(keep in mind, i'm not gonna be this personal all of the time)
Hey, if you wanna be personal, go right ahead! ;) I do! A bunch of people (myself included) around here have even done personality surveys.
