Oh, you're a youngling indeed! :)

This is the song from the end of the original version of Return of the Jedi! I've seen the lyrics too. Pretty cool, eh? The song actually has some English lyrics at the very end too, though it's very...choral...and most people don't notice. If you have the most recent release of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD's, with the bonus discs for each movie, this song is in the bonus disc version of Return of the Jedi. The original Return of the Jedi soundtrack album had an alternate recording that sounded more like children singing, and if you can find the Original Trilogy Soundtrack Anthology CD box set, that has both versions on it.

In the original version of "Return of the Jedi" you can hear the Ewoks sing in English at the end:

Celebrate the fight-glory
Celebrate the light-honor
Celebrate the love, celebrate the love

I prefer everything about the original ending of "Jedi" to the 1997 and 2004 facelifts (as I call them).

The song you are hearing may have originated from a 1983 Meco single (I had it when it came out). It also featured a raggae See Threepio telling the story of "Star Wars" rap-style.

Indeed it was!

I remember seeing some sort of sing-along for this awhile back, where the words were on screen as the song was sung. I can't recall where it was though...

Yeah, I remember reading these somewhere... nutty! I think John Williams (or someone on the production) actually wrote English lyrics, which were then "translated" into Ewokese.

Yeah, didn't you say awhile back that you read that book by Ben Burtt called Galactic Phrase Book and Travel Guide? It was in there.

Yeah, the Galactic Phrase Book and Travel Guide has Ewokese in it. And Ewokese isn't lost. But you must be a youngling like me. I knew the song since the first time I saw it but I didn't get to see it again until the DVDs came out.

I also have the song in a Star Wars Special Edition Piano book and it in the Cello Book.
