I am my Master's Apprentice
Anakin Skywalker ultimately chooses his fate to become the Sith Lord, Darth Vader or did he?
Anakin Skywalker supposedly is conceived by the Living Force, by a Sith Lord...sold into slavery with his mother to Watto.. Who wrangles him until Qui Gon Jinn engineers his freedom..Starts down the road to be a Jedi denied by the coucil and witnesses his Master fight a Sith Lord and then be killed by a Sith Lord..and the inturn watches his "to be" Master Obi Wan Kenobi exercise restraint in slicing the Sith Lord in half..
Treated as another pathetic life form, Anakin is trained as Obi Wan's Padawan where he learns the "Jedi Code" Kenobi style.
Anakin watches Kenobi's slice first and ask questions later negociation techniques. Mace Windu's right by might lightsaber decapitation technique.
The secret marriage to Padme furthers separates Anakin from the Jedi Code.
The Clone Wars continue to blur the lines of the Jedi Code.for Anakin.. With Assajj Ventress and Durge's battles we learn blue and purple sabers can do slice or cut no wrong..
So in Revenge of the Sith... Anakin Skywalker has been cultivated throughout his tumultous upbringing and the Jedi Code and apprenticeship that when Palpatine presents Anakin with solution to his secret problem..Anakin takes the path of least resistance...
Palpatine and Windu's confrontation... Anakin I believe is the only Jedi acting by the code.. Mace, a Jedi Master, throws out the code.. to quickly end the menace of the Sith.. Anakin merely amputates Mace (maybe to save his life) and doesn't kill him. Which he easily could have performed.
There is no funeral for Mace or the dead Jedi..Anakin survived force lighting on two occasions.. Why couldn't Mace? In the Clone Wars Mace glides to save himself..I think Anakin in this "Jedi" act.. preserves at least one of the Jedi Order for the future..
Anakin gives himself over to the Sith.. to preserve his marriage..and perhaps (manage the fate of his children) to give them galaxy..
Obi Wan and Yoda have a different fate for Anakin..
So are the Jedi and Sith one in the same (different colored lightsabers)? Was Anakin the Sith Infiltrator (skills honed by the Jedi) engineered by Palpatine from day one? Did Anakin learn some negative behaviors and techniques from his Jedi Masters. and the Jedi Code only counts when someone is watching? Palpatine gives Anakin status, respect, a mission, and purpose..At least the Sith kill you fast and quick.. and finally provide Peace and Prosperity to the Republic/Empire..

So, Anakin learned that it was okay to murder innocent children in cold blood from Obi-Wan who killed Mace in self defense? What was Obi-Wan supposed to do, let Maul kill him and go on to kill others? And Mace was supposed to let Jango, who'd already contracted to kill Padme, just shoot him and die?

The Jedi may have had their flaws, but condoning murder was not one of them. The beings killed by Obi-Wan and Mace were not innocent and it was done only as a last measure.

By young children you mean Padawan learners, who would grow to be Jedi Knights and hunt down the Sith relentlessly.. Would it be different if were a Death Star full of Storm Troopers on 2 occasions? or Ewoks, or Gungans, or Sith Apprentices in training?
Was Mace aware that Jango too was a father and teacher.. to a young Boba Fett..?
Jedi & Sith.. efficient and effective in killing.. Does it matter which side? Did you cry when sliced through the Confederate leadership... Padawans, Jedi, Anakin..Obi Wan Yoda.. all are Palpatine's pawns..

Anakin was shaped by his childhood and young adulthood...
Mentored by mechanics, pilots, mother, Jedi, wife, marriage, adulthood, statesmen, Sith, and then his children...Anakin's environment and early influences shaped his choices in adulthood.. Possession, Love, Loyalty...governed Anakin's life.. Sith Weapon or Heroic Jedi?

If you notice..Anakin slices Mace almost the exactly the way neutralizing, not killing him almost the same technique that Dooku gives Anakin on Geonosis..
We never see Mace die.. Does Anakin preserve part of the council in this action? Palps force lightninged him out the window..
Luke falls..into abyss..why can't Mace.

At least the Sith kill you fast and quick. That's the only way to go.:D

While I have sympathy for Anakin in the decisions he faced, he still chose to abandon his principles and betray his friends. I don't believe for one instant that he had absolutely no choice in any of the decisions he made. If he had no choice in any thing, then he was a battle droid, programmed to do whatever his master wanted him to do.

I too feel that Anakin was the only one following the jedi code when he chopped off Mace's arm.
I too have always thought that Mace could have survived that fall. Think about it. Anakin jumps out of a speeder in ATOC. Not only that, but he also times the jump perfectly to safely land on a moving target. I think that Mace was surely powerful enough to accomplish something similar.

" Anakin Skywalker supposedly is conceived by the Living Force, by a Sith Lord..."

If this is mentioned anywhere in the EU please let me know. I find this to be intriguing.
