The best SW book ever: Republic Commando Triple Zero
Today I finished Triple Zero and I have to say that when I closed the cover on the book I had such a feeling of satisfaction but at the same time a feeling of sadness. It was over. I had finished. I felt like I'd just pulled the plug on a loved one. Seriously. So, I feel the only way to do this incredible book justice is to share my opinion's on it in my first ever review blog.

1) Story

First let's talk about the story. I felt more like I was watching a movie rather than reading at most point's of this book. Ms.Traviss does an incredible job of conveying the Commando's world and really making you understand what's around them. The plot was amazing and the twist's and turn's had me distracted all day. Though it was complex and amazing it was never hard to follow, a dificult feat, I'm sure. The end of the story in particular had me pacing the room as I read it. The late night raid was my favorite part of the story. I wound up reading it about three of four times. I actually ( I feel so stupid admiting this, but I can trust you guys ) started to cry slightly at the end when Bardan and Etain were discussing attachmen'ts and how they'd take the clones over the order. I thought that was absolutly amazing. I was shocked when Skirata began to chew out Etain for getting pregnant but I couldn't help but agree with him. All in all I give the story a...
100 out of 100:D

2) Character's

Let's break them down and look at them individually.

1. Fi- By far my favorite member of Omega squad. Fi's internal conflict in this book was amazing. I loved when you had the opprtunity to get into his mind and see how he really felt. I couldn't help but sympathize for Fi and how he longed for what Darman and Atin had and by the end I was hoping he'd get a taste of it. But, alas, he didn't. Just another reason for a third book, right.;)

2. Darman- Well, this was a very interesting character. The first time around I was fascinated with Darman, this time I couldn't wait to read more about him. He was in quite and interesting prediciment this time and I enjoyed following his story.

3. Niner- Not much to say here. I was sad that we didn't get to go more in dept with Niner this time. I find him to be a very interesting character. His tussle's with Boss were enjoyable and I love how he watched over Skirata.

4. Atin- Atin's conflict with Vau was incredible. I wanted so badly for Atin to take Vau on and beat him down. I was very pleased when he finally did. I also liked the fact that Atin got to have a little romance, something he more than any other Commando deserve's, seeing as how he's been through so much.

5. Skirata- How could you not love Kal'buir? I was amazed that such a ruthless Mandalorian mercnary could be such and gentle father. I couldn't say enough about this character. His emotional twist's and turn''s were some of the best part's of the story. Triple Zero wouldn't be what it is now without our dear Kal'buir.

6. Scorch- I just wanna say that I loved Scorch's humor. He's my favorita character so I was very pleased that he was in this story.

7. Ordo- Ordo is one of the most complex character's I've ever encountered. One second he's calm and pratctical, next he's ready to snap your neck with his pinky. I thought that Etain description of him in the Force was exactly spot on. I couldn't love a character ( except Scorch ) any more than I love dear Ordi'ka.

8. Corr- I felt so sorry for Corr in this story. A young trooper he deserve's only the respect of the Republic wind's up at an office job with no hands. I love how he blended in spectacularly with the Commando's and was very happy when Kal said that he was going to train him. He deserve's that much at least.

9. Vau- I hated him in a good way. I hated the character but have to admit that he was still a very good character. I thought his love for Mird was a funny little twist on an evil charater and it kinda balanced him out.

10. Etain- Etain's journey in this one was a much greater one than in the last one. She learned that soldiering is a nessecary job and has a dark side to it. I was pleased that she learned at the end just how wrong the order was.

11. Bardan- My second favorite SW character( with Ordo ). Bardan was incredible in this story. It amazed me how he could go from Jedi to soldier to full blow Mand'o and was willing to give up being a Jedi to stick with his men. Bardan is a true inspriration to me and I think everyone else who read's this book.

Overall the character's get a 100 out of 100

3) Length

Finally an SW book that was long enough to keep me really on the story. It was just the right length, unlike many great SW books that are way to short.

Length get's 100 out of 100

All together, Republic Commando: Triple Zero gets a 300 out of 300. Ten stars. 100%, whatever you prefer to say. And there ya go. That's my reviev.

Ms. Karen Traviss: I know that you ocassionally browse the blogs and I hope that you manage to catch this blog. I just want to sincerly and honestly thank you for writing such a wonderfull book. I know this in one of those rare few that I will read over and over again. Once again, thank you so very, very much.
Sincerly,
Master Jedi Michael.
