Melting away
Since I'm simply melting away in front of my PC (it must be one of the hottest summers ever, including summer of 2003, in my room it's over 32°C at 8.15p.m. in the evening... ), I might just ramble on a bit.
I finished reading some of the books on my "to read list" and some of them were really good ones. Not all of them were Star Wars related, but still good... ;)
I was quite happy to fill some of the gaps in my Star Wars Shelf and read "Medstar I+II", "The Approaching Storm", "Dark Lord" and of course "Legacy of the Force: Betrayal".

Medstar I+II are like MASH in Star Wars. There was fun, tragedy, suspense ... I liked those two books, they had a bit of everything. Since the story takes place in a med-camp there are some medical expressions, but its still comprehensible. Sadly there are not many connections to other CloneWars novels, but perhaps some characters may reappear in one of the following Imperial Time novels.

Approaching Storm was quite entertaining. I always like novels about Jedi and their Padawans and even though some passages in the book were a bit strange, I enjoyed reading it. One thing I thought was, that Anakin seems strangely young, since this takes place shortly before AOTC. He seemed to be not older than 14 or 15, given some of his reactions... Perhaps this story was supposed to take place earlier, but had to be fitted in the overall concept...

Dark Lord was an interesting read, those moments when Vader struggled against Anakin... yes interesting. The story itself was not overwhelming but that is not, what this book is about. It's about people and their decisions and those introspective moments were well written and believable.

Legacy of the Force: Betrayal - well... I liked it. It's a good prelude to what will come. I have the feeling that this series will be way better than Dark Nest. I liked Dark Nest, but there was always something missing and everything was a bit rushed. But Betrayal started somewhat slower, then took up quite some speed as it went on and the moments on Corellia in the last part of the book made it a real page turner.
The plotline with Jacen and Ben gave me the creeps, especially Jacens decision, even though it was to be expected after what he said and did in Dark Nest.
I'm really looking forward to Bloodlines, this was a promising start.

Now I have to shutdown my computer in order to let my room cool down for the night... Sleep well out there, whatever you may be....

As usual I apologise for any grammatical mistakes or vocabular misuse and promise improvement.
