Spider-Man 3
Yeah, yeah, two days late I know, sorry... Alright, taking the movie by character here.

Peter Parker/Spider-Man: You know how the whole movie was hyped for the whole black costume angle? Well, it shows up, and crap happens. No, good crap. But, not if you're Sandman. Or New Goblin. (Hate that name...) But I won't spoil anything. This movie felt a little more like Peter Parker than Spider-Man 3 really. Peter is something that is a very interesting aspect in [i[Amazing Spider-Man or Ultimate Spider-Man but not in a movie. We only had 2 hours, 20 minutes. (Which is too long, BTW)

Mary Jane Watson: She sings. Twice. Its not good. But she was a good actor. She plays the part of Peter's conflicted girlfriend very well. But I can't get into too much detail with her... spoilers and all.

New Goblin: Argh! Remember when he was Hobgoblin? Yeah, I really liked his parts though. I really wish I could go into details... But he is a good actor.

Sandman: Wow... him and New Goblin were very welly written out characters and he really managed to sell Sandman. But his first fight scene with Spider-Man made little sense. Who transports sand through New York? And Yorkers want to explain that please?

Venom: You know those little yippie dogs. Those ones that weren't too cute, and very, very loud and screechy? Well, Venom's like that. He comes in like 2/3s into the movie, so not much I can tell you about him. Topher, on the other hand, was great. But, hey, can we work on his muscles next time he's in a super hero movie? Please? But other than that, no complaints.

Stan Lee: Yep, he's actually garned a bigger part in this. When he saw a thing about Spider-Man getting the key to the city he says, "Huh, I guess one man can make a difference. 'Nuff said." For the uneducated, "'Nuff said" was something Marvel would throw it on some covers where something bad would happen like someone was holding a dead person's head. Inside joke I guess.

Bruce Campbell: Yep, him too, as a waiter. And he's not even an Easter Egg appearance. He's got a part. But the judge is out on him.

Gwen Stacy: She's just kind of there, really, just for a love triangle. ****Spoilers**** They should have just killer her off.

Like I said, I wish I could say more, but it would be a big spoiler.

I could have done without the goofy "hey, chicks, dig me!" segment, and I agree, it was a bit too long.

I'm not a big Spidey fan, but what first attracted me to this movie was Peter's struggle with his dark side. It reminded me of Anakin, especially during Peter's conversation with Aunt May when she came to his apartment, and when Peter talked about making choices.

I really liked James Franco as Harry; he'd make a very good ROTS Anakin, dontcha think? He's got that same intense, dark quality as Hayden.

yah james franco reminded me of hayden in spiderman 2 becuas of his hair and his anger like features,i think they rushed 3 to fast what they should have done was introduced venom instead of introdusing him and him dying in the last 5 sec.but it was a ok movie, topher grace being venom made me think about that 70's show i was waiting for red forman to pop out of noware and say dumb!@# lol,he is so type casted its a shame, but overall ok movie #2 is still the best(i love hayden christensen!!!!)same rating 3 out of 5.

I agree with ewanandhayden's comment about the "dig me" segment - I know what it was trying to do but I felt it was a little too over the top, kind of embarrassing actually. maybe that was the whole point.

Anyway, still loved the movie, the jury's out which of the three I prefer. I heard this morning that it's the biggest selling opening weekend of all time and the movie's makers have stated they want 3 more, which may or may not be a good thing.

What did it for me was seeing the trailers for Pirates 3 and Potter 5, I've seen them in low-res, but seeing them for the first time on the big screen gave me shudders. Both movies may well sell better than Spidey 3 but I don't really care - they're all awesome.

I felt a whole lot of the movie could have been taken out, like when Kirsten Dunst sang. Twice. But, I dunno. I might have given it a higher preview since I came into the movie only knowing these things, "Venom, black suit, Sandman, Hobgoblin" pretty much, and not much else.
