Welcome to Kazook, erm I mean Kashyyyk!
I saw the Holiday Special. Yeah, I know, most of you have probably seen it. But I came, I saw, and... well, it was quite a show wasn't it?

I liked the time with Chewie's family. Well, most of it anyway. What's up with Itchy's video? It gave me chills.... I know what you think of me, I am your fantasy." Ewwww!! I guess this was half-way decent in the late '70's? That's.... yeah, well. The time we spend with them shows how a Wookiee lives, which is incidentally, just like us, taking out the garbage and doing the dishes.

The Boba 'toon was quite a different Boba than we had in ESB isn't it? But I don't know why George would change him, friend. Imagine, we almost had this in the movies, IMO it was waaaay weird armor if we're supposed to imagine this guy as a threat to our heroes right? Still, one thing stuck out to me from was that the sleeping virus didn't affect Boba. Hmmm... makes you wonder what the original plan for Boba was right?

Ackmeda's Cantina was just kinda "been there, done that" isn't it? I mean, its all just basically aliens from Wuher's cantina plus a giant rat. It does show how much the Galaxy didn't care for the Empire right? Well, and that singing number, but meh, it was better than Carrie Fisher's!

We don't see much of Luke, Leia or the droids, which is a nice break, IMO. We see them more towards the end, but other than that, nope. Carrie Fisher sings too. Reminds me of Kirsten Dunst in Spidey 3. *Shudders*

And, is it just me, or did I never see George Lucas listed in the credits?

I am not as critical of the Holiday Special as most people all (including George Lucas). I was 4-years-old when it came out and I think it was made for people like me at that time (toddlers; i.e., kids who were too young to see the original film, but would be prime targets for the next movie).

Also, this was a time before VHS and "Star Wars" wouldn't be on network TV for years. So, if you were a young kid who could "almost" remember the cantina scene in "Star Wars" you would have enjoyed what you got in the "Star Wars Holiday Special", it was enough like it to an 8-years-old recollection that you enjoyed it.
