I am gearing up to be part of the crew going to the Everglades to do an Electronic Field Trip. It will be carried by assorted PBS stations around the country on Tuesday, April 22, 2008.
I was speaking with the head of the EFT department and she was talking about a particular park ranger who would be going all over the place and that one camera would have to be going with him everywhere he goes. She was saying how sorry she felt for that individual because they would be going in to parts of the park that tourists aren't allowed to venture in to. That's when it dawned on me.
I am the only Hand Held camera on the shoot, so
I am the one going out with this ranger.
I was also told that the mode of dress should be boots, long pants, long sleeves, hat, hood.....Basically wrap myself up as if anything out there were trying to "get" me. Be that plants, insects, snakes, aligators or any other animal. On the plus side, I am amazingly immune to Poison Ivy, so that's nice. Not so immune to bug bites and fear. I'm sure I'll be fine and will keep my senses about me. I also hope to come back with some awesome pictures....we'll see.
Upon my return I think I'll do a video blog about some recent additions. A couple really cool sets and something I was never going to buy (how many times have I said that?!).
