Things I did when I was a kid
Today's vlog is a look at the IMAGINATION I had as a kid and what I used to fill my empty Star Wars toy life.

I didn't have any of the toys at first. My dad wouldn't spend the money on them so I got a job at the age of 12 to start my Star Wars spending. I worked at our church (the very same one preaching the evils of Star Wars) and spent that money along with my allowance from doing stuff around the house and any I could scrape together from assorted other odd jobs. To compensate for my lack of items, I had to come up with ways to have the toys without actually having them.

It is amazing the things that sticks can become. More amazing still, are the many uses of pen caps from the Bic brand of Stick Ink Pens and even a Tic Tac box.

A STRANGE LITTLE KID.

Watch the video first, if you can.

To show some close ups of what are in the video, here are Some Shots of perfect PENMANSHIPS that might be a little clearer than those in the video. The video says to thieve the caps, but I assure I never stole any of them. Only borrowed. I ended up going out and buying a multi-pack of each color to build an army of THESE LITTLE SHIPS.

So there it is, outside of the toy realm and the normal idea of using sticks as guns and lightsabers, pen caps and Tic Tac boxes led to many a treasured play time around the neighborhood. I surprised me how I remembered, after all these years, exactly how the ships went together (not that it was too hard). Even my wife was impressed....most impressed.
