I was in our local BlockBuster last night turning in our internet rentals for a couple in-store. I hadn't been in the store itself for about a month and a half.
Upon entering I saw a HUGE display of Indiana Jones stuff. Baseball hats, shirts, a piece of baggage with the 4 disc set in it (not including Crystal Skull, obviously) and a batch of Star Wars bobbleheads.
As we looked around to grab our flicks I walked over to where they have "artistic" posters. These are the same size as theater posters but are printed on wood and textured to feel like it is hand painted. I saw a couple of Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast At Tiffany's (I love her in that phase, So gorgeous) and then saw a Pulp Fiction. I decided I was going to have to come back for that one.
As we flipped past the Audrey shots, we it the mother load.
The clouds parted, cut a hole in the roof and a beam of light shone down in front of us. There, in all of it's shining glory, was a poster of
A NEW HOPE. I just about passed out. I talked it over with my wife and we decided to grab it and go. as if that weren't enough, when I grabbed this one, stacked behind it was the
RETURN OF THE JEDI. Again we deliberated and decided to buy them both. It was a little pricey, but I couldn't NOT get them.
Now, tonight, we are going to go to the other local BlockBuster to see if they have The Empire Strikes Back. This will now become a quest to find the third in the set.
These are going to be proudly displayed in our front room. Maybe not until we get rid of this gigantic entertainment center, but we'll see. These are amazing. Go check your local shop and see if they have them. TOTALLY worth the $40 price tag.
