The Look of Love
Well, it sure has been a while since my last entry. It was a terribly busy summer and an even busier new fall semester at college, but all will soon slow down and become routine...I hope.

I'm taking some time today to discuss something I've always found interesting about Attack of the Clones since I first saw it in theaters back in '02. First of all I would like to say that I wasn't a Star Wars fan until I saw Clones, I had seen the others at least once but I never got into it until AOTC, so I guess going into it with a somewhat open mind helped out alot. I didn't know much about Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenboi, or Padme Amidala to know how their relationships would end up. The part that sealed the deal on my fandom was the execution arena scenes. I love every bit of that part!

Anyway, the thing I want to talk about is the look Obi-Wan gives Anakin after he and Padme are led off the cart that takes them out to the arena. As Anakin walks past Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan looks at Anakin and kind of smiles at him. Just a small smile, and when it cuts back to Anakin it looks like he is smiling back at him. When I first saw this I thought that Obi-Wan had seen Anakin and Padme's passionate kiss in the breezeway of the arena. If he had seen it, then why didn't he confront Anakin about it? I've always thought that maybe Obi-Wan thought that Padme would be a good influence and perhaps would help Anakin to mature mentally faster. Or perhaps Obi-Wan just had too much faith in his padawan and completely over-looked it. That would explain why he didn't do anything about the ever-so controversial embrace that a worried Padme gave Anakin after the fight with Dooku. I believe that ever since the kiss on Geonosis, Obi-Wan knew about Anakin and Padme. He may not have known they were married, but he definitely knew something!

Though the saga is complete, there are still many unaswered questions to debate and discuss for us fans and this is just one of those many questions.
