Hypothetically, let's say a new Topps Star Wars Galaxy set is coming up. With that in mind, what artists would you like to see explore the Star Wars universe, or further explore it for that matter? No restrictions, except they must be alive and working. Also, you can't vote for yourself.
Here are mine:
1.Darwyn Cooke
2.David Mazzuchelli
3. Bruce Timm
4. Alex Maleev
5. Mike Allred
Maybe there's more, that's my top 5 though.

I'd like to see the folks who worked on the Star Wars Marvel Comics, and not just the initial ones, but especially the ones who worked on later issues (esp. 81-107).

It's got to be said that hands down the most exciting times for Star Wars card collectors was during the time when Galaxy 1-3 were coming out. When the Star wars renaissance was in full swing, those card sets were a really huge part of it and ever since I've been hoping for another set, especially with all the top artists around today.
My choices? The usual guys - Joe Corroney, Cynthia Cummens, Adam Hughes, Tom Hodges, you know the gang. But I'd also add Dan Biesel, Tim Wann and the luvverly Leah Mangue.
And a Dork Side-style inspired piece by Neil Baker.
If only I could draw...

I'm partial to the old(er) school artists, the modern legends...since the current SW artists have already been mentioned, I won't repeat the obvious..
Jim Lee
Todd McFarlane
John Romita Jr
Rob Liefeld - for the right characters...
I would just like to see the SW character in the 90s style comic imagry...that's my take....

The current Star Wars artists are a given. I'd like to see something from Dave Dorman, just because it's been a while. I'd also like to see Jae Lee, George Perez, Phil Jimenez, Brian Steelfreeze, Daniel Acuna, Ryan Sook, Alex Horley, and Ariel Olivetti, along with all the others already mentioned (well, maybe not Liefeld) and anyone who took part in the previous Galaxy sets.

As long as we are talking art based printed cards and not sketch cards then I am in for an updated set that includes work by the production artists for the clones wars (both cartoon network and upcoming 3D versions). I was also pretty impressed with stuff seen at the Celebration events many artists if which have already been mentioned so I wont cover old ground. In general I would say more new artists covered and a select few cards for older Galaxy artists that have new work.

Let's also throw into the mix Mark Schultz and Jar Jar / Sebulba creator Terryl Whitlatch. I work with Terryl teaching art classes at the Academy of Art. Really sweet and obviously very talented. Check out her Creatures / Wildlife of the Star Wars Universe book. Sorry to sound like a late night informercial! I'm just having so much fun with all of you! Okay, back to the drawing board (shuffles feet and sighs)

Whoever suggested Walt Simonsen is a genius. he drew some of THE classic era of Star Wars Marvels, and anyone who can envisage Asgard like he can deserves it.
Plus he drew those awesome chase cards for the Galaxy sets, so that's worth a shout just there.
Also I reckon a Boris Vallejo or Julie Bell card would be amazing, and a Frank Miller Darth Vader? Frank Frazetta raging Wookie? Mike Mignola R2 and 3-PO? Come on, it would be amazing!
Did I mention Neil Baker? And me to do the copy on the back...

LOL - this is why I love hansgirl (and janlomona)
While Dan Cooney mentioned Terryl (yes - the wildlife book is stunning), let's throw Dan's name into the hat - have you seen his catgirl illustrations?
Oh, and Miss Padme? Your suggestion of Moebius is genius - he's one of my inspirations!!

My views would be leave out sketch cards but have the artists do proper art and concept drawings as the basic common cards just like the first 3 galaxy series. Lets say as the Galaxy sets are about artwork that Topps also get the artists to sign auto cards this time around rather than actors and production crew.

I would love to see what Kevin Doyle and Mark McHaley would do with Star Wars.
