Knights of the Old Republic III: Scourge of the Empire
All right, I'm sure many of us here have visited the Secrets of Star Wars '07 feature again and again upon visitation to the site, and much speculation has been thrown back and forth as to just what it previews. To many, it seems clear that it is a new video game of apparent epic proportions to be released sometime next year.

Following the success of the first two Knights of the Old Republic games, would it be so far fetched to assume that this new 'monumental addition' to the Star Wars mythology is yet another installment in the enthralling series. By the pre production artwork that has been showing up, it's clear that the new tale takes place sometime after the events of Episode III but before Episode IV. If this was indeed a new KOTOR, it would be the first to take the series out of the Sith Era and into the Prequel/Original Trilogy time period. Although the Republic is no more, the title would still fit the bill.

The Jedi who survived the events of Episode III (i.e. Quinlan Vos and others) still consider themselves Jedi in the name of the Old Republic regardless of the fact that the Empire has taken hold of the galaxy. Wouldn't it be fascinating to take on the role of one of these surviving Jedi and struggle against the dark forces of the Emperor in similar role playing fashion as previous Knights titles? Party members might include Vos and the unique droid I-Five from the Shadow Hunter and Medstar novels, along with others. To me, the idea is an exciting one... and as much fun as it would be to revisit the era of Revan, Malak, and Nihilus, I can't help but cross my fingers for an in depth RPG exploring the vast galaxy as the Empire seeks to crush freedom beneath its heel.

Imagine the possibilities...
