I said in my last blog that my various lists would go back and forth between subjective, my favourite of whatever, and objective, which I termed as such: "my third eye looking upon a situation and doing the best I can to judge it based on its own merit and completely separate from my own tastes."
Well that's what I am going to do here. To the best of my ability, I have ranked what I believe simply are the best 100 songs of all-time (in the rock and roll era). I did not play favourites here, there are songs I love to pieces that didn't even sniff this list. This is a scholastic ranking of what I PERCEIVE to be the one hundred greatest songs ever.
So long as one disagrees with me on the merits of a song, not based on personal opinion, then it can be discussed and it will be considered valid. Believe me, there are songs on this list I do not like, but they belong.
Unlike my subjective lists this will not be in countdown order, rather in normal list order. So, without further adieu.
