Could I have your autograph
I have always marvelled at how some people can go up to celebrities and ask for their autograph without any hesitation. I have never had that courage. I had to go into the bathroom at Fox Studios in Sydney and practice asking Natalie and Ewan and Hayden for their autographs. I was using the mirrors and was vocally getting up a head of steam, when a voice from behind me said, I not sure about the rest of them, but if you give me your poster, I sign it. I turned slowly to find Samuel L Jackson in robes washing his hands. I thanked him and went outside and when I was sure nobody was watching....I danced and jumped about, then prompty when back inside the studio and got my pen and poster ready.
I am interested to find out what your best autograph score was and how you came to get it.
Oh, by the way. I did manage to get the rest to sign my poster and the cream on top was George and Rick scratching their names as well. Jay

I love getting autographs. I guess for me it is like having your photo taken with someone: it is a memento of a time when you connected with that person.

Meeting Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, and Warwick Davis in 1998 was a great experience for me. Kenny and Peter especially, because Mr. Baker was so humble and kind and Mr. Mayhew asked me what my favorite fim was, etc.

I know exactly how you feel! I got Ray Park's autograph at WizardCon a few monts ago. I was so shy that it took 15 minutes for me to work up the courage to approach him. I wanted to say something like, "You totally kicked butt in Ep. I!" Or, "Any new projects in the works?" But all I could say was, "Nice to meet you". Duuuhh! *Insert kicking-myself-Yoda emoticon*. He was very sweet and soft-spoken, so it was a great experience. I still can't believe it happened! I got my pic taken with him...I blogged about it here.

That's an awesome story! I can just picture Samuel LJ saying that to you too.
Thanks for sharing that! It's nice to know that even big stars like yourself get starstruck like the rest of us! ;)

I have never asked or received an autograph from an actor/actress but I sure like reading this. You sound like one of us...;

This reminds me of when I was at C2 and I was waiting in line for Kenneth Colley's autograph I was more nervous then I was standing in line for either Carrier Fisher or Billy D. Williams. I guess it was becuase Piett was one of my favorite charatcers. I take it byt you handle and its color that you might be Jay Laga'aia. If so I wanted to say you rocked at C3.

I'm always nervous in autograph lines, terrified I'm going to say or do something that makes me look silly. But how cool of SLJ :D. Thanks for sharing that little anecdote.

For some odd reason, I don't feel uncomfortable striking up a conversation when I meet a celeb, but I feel horribly intrusive when I ask for an autograph. Therefore, I don't have many autographs to speak of! But, I had a wonderfully long & inspiring conversation with Ben Vereen in 1991 which I will never forget - but don't have an autograph!

The coolest autograph I have is from the members of my favorite band "Dada". The drummer tossed me a stick after a show & afterward they all signed it w/o me even having to ask. Each one said to me in turn, "You have a stick? Here, I'll sign it!"

COOL!!

I this really you Jay???
Didn't you know you're one of them?

Autographs are cool for those who seek and collect them but I'd much rather have a candid photo with you and any other Star Wars celebrity...much more important, much more personal, something I'd treasure but anyone else would cut me out of the photo.
