Plot Hole - Ferus Olin & Siri Tachi
I think I found a plot hole. I have been wondering if I should say anything or if I should just let it slide.

Where was Ferus Olin while Siri Tachi was off playing "Zora the Pirate"?

In Jedi Apprentice: The Rising Force by Dave Wolverton we are told that a young Jedi Padawan must be selected as a personal Padawan by a Jedi Knight before his or her 13th birthday or he or she will be sent from the Jedi Temple to one of the service corps.

In Jedi Quest: The Way of the Apprentice by Jude Watson we are told that Ferus "was a few years older than Anakin" Skywalker. I don't know the exact count of "a few years" but I'm assuming it is about two.

In Jedi Quest: Path to Truth by Jude Watson, Anakin is 13-years old. This would make Ferus about 15-years old. Too old to have not already been chosen as a Padawan and still be in the Temple to be chosen.

It also says that Siri has been on her pirate mission for two years. That is, since Ferus was about 13-years old.

How can this be resolved? Should I accept that Jedi Quest: Path to Truth is not canon?

Did the Jedi Council change the rule? Did they stop sending away un-chosen Padawans over the age of 13? Did Ferus not get chosen until he was 15-years old? That's would be hard to believe as he was a very gifted Padawan and well respected.

Or did Siri chose him before he was 13 and then leave him alone in the Temple for two years while she pretended to have turned to the dark side? That would have looked rather odd. I would think that would raise questions that would endanger her undercover mission.

Or did Ferus have some other Master before Siri? If so, what happened to his previous Master? How did he end up with Siri?
