Due to the character limit and to my delay in replying, here are my replies to jkthunder's comments to my previous blog entry regarding the Ferus Olin / Siri Tachi plot hole.

The "rule" set forth, at least as I see it, is that if a padawan turns 13 and is not chosen by a master, then yes, they go serve in the Jedi Corpse (or whatever) but it doesn't neccessarily mean they can't *ever* become an apprentice."
Yes, you are correct. Obi-Wan was sent away to the Agricultural Corps on the planet Bandomeer before he was chosen by Qui-Gon Jinn but it was four weeks before his 13th birthday and he was chosen by Qui-Gon before the four weeks were up thus he was chosen before his 13th birthday. So it is not clear if Qui-Gon could have taken Obi-Wan as his Padawan had he already reached his 13th birthday.
Since it isn't clear, that could be what happened to Ferus Olin. I hadn't thought about that. It just seems strange that the "perfect" Padawan would not have been chosen sooner by some Master.

Yes, the same.
