I say it begins today, and not Friday, because many theaters have special showings of Iron-Man tonight. My favorite theater (Sprindale 18 Cinema DeLuxe in Fairfield, Ohio) begins screening at 8:00 p.m. I probably won't get to see it until this weekend or later, mainly because my wife will kill me if I don't take her with me.

God, I love Summer movie season! There is nothing better than spending a beautiful summer afternoon in a damp, dark, windowless box of a room, surrounded by pimply teenagers who haven't yet learned about cell phone etiquette, and the hormone-laden couple beside me that feel the need to procreate while I nervously munch on my popcorn and keep my eyes on the screen. Oh, how I love this time of year!

And this summer is shaping up to be the best we've seen in years. Not only do we get the return of Indiana Jones and Anakin Skywalker, we're going to get calls from Batman, the Hulk, Mulder and Scully, and Rick O'Connell. It's like someone threw a giant birthday bash for me (which is July 6th, get your presents ready, no excuses) and invited all of my old friends to come over. And I feel it's going to be one hell of a bash!

Now, I want to hear from you! What movie are you looking forward to the most (Besides Indy IV and Clone Wars-that's a given!)? Personally, I'm chomping at the bit for The Dark Knight and The X-Files: I Want to Believe. No matter what you're craving, this summer the theaters have something to please your palate.
