Star Wars: The Rise to Revenge (Part Two)
Ok folks, here is the second chapter to my tale of two of the greatest Sith Lords that ever lived. This is where the tale truly begins. The scene in the tomb was one of the most fun to write. My big hope is that I made the character of Tam funny; Comedy's not really my thing, but I needed someone to lighten the mood of a really dark tale, and a cowardly graverobber seemed like a good idea. I hope you think so too.

So, without any further ado, Here's Part Two!

And, in case you missed it: Part One!

A side note: After Plagueis rips off the lid to the tomb, he becomes ill for a moment. I meant to go back and write that in, but I never did. It's important for events later on in the story.

Also, I'm sorry to say that everyone's comments for part one were deleted due to my blog being blocked. If you'd like to leave them again, I'd appreciate it.

I pointed out the Plagueis novel (cancelled) said Plagueis is a Muun. In part on you did a description of Plagueis where his nose sticks out past his cloak, and Muun's have pretty small noses. Its a minor point of course! :)

I like part 2 as well, good stuff, looking forward to more!

The beginning of this part reminds me of the X-Files! :^O You know, the black oil?

I like this Tam character, too. He made me laugh. ;) He was probably my favorite part of this section, actually. We'll see what he does next....

Oh yes! I was hoping you'd send that back. First, I started this project about six months to a year before the Plagueis project was announced (I just about had a coronary the day the article appeared), so by all rights mine came first and should be regarded as the truth! Just kidding. Second, everything about that project was scrapped, so in my opinion Plagueis's appearance, race, etc. has never been determined, and open for interpretation. Just for the record, I based his looks on Lord Voldemort-J.k> Rowling's version, not the films'.

The beginning of this part reminds me of the X-Files!
That scene where the bugs crawl under Palps's skin was inspired by one of my favorite episodes, War of the Cophrages (I mispelled that). In it, some kids are doing drugs, and a kid watches as cockroaches burrow into his wrist and crawl up his arm. Classic.

I liked Tam. The level of humor was appropriate without being over the top like Jar Jar.

As for Plagueis as a Muun, that has been established by another source. The Jedi and Sith Guide (The Essential Guide to the Force), now has a picture of Palpatine training under Darth Plagueis. Parts of the picture I'm referencing can be found on wookieepedia.

Another good entry.

No, YOU'RE one of the funniest guys online. I'm just a hack that makes funny remarks based on what you've already written.

Hmmm, I can't argue much with that, I guess. I guess I'll just play the part of GL and use "creative license" as my defense:)

I went and read that wookieepedia entry-Very enlightening! It's also interesting to note that my story falls more or less in line with what is written there. And small details like Plagueis as a Muun can be easily changed, anyway :)

I'm not a writer, but I do know it has enough info to help potential writers of SW lit. Don't be shy about using it. If I was a writer, I definitely would- especially to keep things in line with what has already been written.
Good luck!!!!

To be completely honest, I like to keep in line with the SW canon, but I'm not terribly concerned if I veer away from it a little bit. With that said, wookieepedia definitely is a starting point for SW writers.

My favorite part was when Tam was firmly planting his foot in his mouth by commenting on the foolishness of beliving the Sith legends, but before he could go too far, Plagueis stopped him by saying, "Shut up!" And what horrible luck; Tam just happens to grab the one bauble the Sith lords actually care about. :O

Some of the greatest X-Files eps are the really bizarre ones. Another favorite is "Home", the one with the inbreeding family that killed deformed babies and kept their mom under the bed-you know, good family television :D
