I Find Your Lack of Cheer...Disturbing- Part One
This is the first of my three part blog series before Christmas. This series is meant to spread around some Christmas cheer. I am naming it-if I dare- the counterpart to Jediprincess77's holiday extravaganza. I believe she will link them from her blog, and I will do likewise.

I tried to pack this guide full of games you and your family can play at Christmas time. Some of these activities are great for the whole family. Others will serve their purpose by keeping kids occupied for a while. There are some good ones for holiday parties.

Here are some games I find fun. The age-group and number of people for the games is listed at the beginning of each game. These are only my personal suggestions. They could really be for kids from one to ninety-two. The games can be changed in anyway you would like. Enjoy!

Game- Hum that Carol
*Age- Seven and up. If playing with a younger age group, use songs kids are likely to recognize.
*Number of people- Eight or more
*Rules- Write Christmas songs on a piece of paper. Make sure that each song name is used twice, each one on its own sheet. Put the papers in a hat or basket and have each player draw one piece. Then, at the same time, have everyone start humming their tune. The first player to find the other player humming the same tune wins.
*Tips- Small prizes may be appropriate for the winner. Best used at a party for kids or adults.

Game- What am I
*Age- Twelve and up.
*Number of people- Four or more
*Rules- On a name-tag or pieces of paper write down a theme or something to do with Christmas. An example would be a Reindeer. As guests arrive hand them a piece of paper. They may not show their paper to any other guests. When the game starts, have each person take turns acting out their Christmas theme. Talking can be allowed or not, depending on the difficulty desired.

Game-Reindeer Antlers
*Age- Ten and up
*Number of people- Four or more
*Rules- Make two or more teams. Give two pantyhose and balloons per person on the team. When you say go the teams must race to make the Reindeer Antlers by blowing up the balloons and stuffing them in the pantyhose. The first team that finishes must shout "Rudolph's shiny nose!"
*Tips- Try to avoid pantyhose that won't stretch easily.

Game- Christmas Lights
*Age- Must be old enough to read
*Number of people- Four or more
*Rules- Go around your neighborhood and look for houses with unique Christmas decorations. Write down clues describing each house. Example- I'm a one-story house with a dress of white and gold. Group your guests in teams of two and give them a notepad and a pencil, along with the clues. Have them walk around the neighborhood guessing which house is in the clues. The first team to write down all the correct addresses and bring them home wins.

Game- Merry Christmas
*Age-Must be old enough to read and write.
*Number of people- Two or more
*Rules- Write the word Merry Christmas on top of a sheet of notebook paper. Tell each player to try to make as many words out of Merry Christmas as possible. Example- miss, cram, stir. The player to come up with the most words before the time limit you set runs out wins.

That's all I could come up with. I hope you find time to still have fun and play these games in the midst of the Christmas rush. Next in the series is a Christmas jokeathon, much like what I did for Thanksgiving.

Merry Christmas!
