The "F" word!
In my personal experience I've meet a LOT of Star Wars fans. Ironically only after the Speaical Edtions and Prequels came out, before that growing up with the films when they came out at the theaters every kid in the school yard loved them, well almost every kid I did know a coulpe who didn't care for them, but once they were out of the lime light I was left alone in my fandom. At least I thought I was. When I became a teenager people mocked them, talked about how cheesy they where and believe it or not I remember people saying things like "I can't believe I use to think the FX were good" and "the acting was bad." Then came the remastered THX video box set which slowly I started to meet fans again, but it wasn't until the SE came out that Star Wars fandom seemed to double. Then came The Phantom Menace, at that point the Star Wars offical fan club tripled and has been growing ever since. By the way when TPM came out I talked to a lot people who had seen it before me, everyone I worked with, family, freinds all liked the film, all but one. That's besides the point of this blog.

The "F" word or "fans" as I've put it in so many treads and blogs, it has come to my attention that some people out there are having a difficult time with my meaning behind it, so let me try to explain. As I've stated I have meet MANY Star Wars fans over the past decade, I can honestly say that 98% (I'll estimate, around 200 people) of these fans enjoy all the Star Wars films and everything else that is Star Wars. The other 2% (which is about 10 people, out of 200 to give you some perspective on how many fans I'm talking about) are the one's that I mock with the "fans" logo if you will, only because I got it from them. These "fans" are the few who have declared themselfs as the "true" fans of Star Wars, or the so called "real Star Wars" (their words not mine) in other words they can't or won't see past the original versons of Star Wars and Empire. Which is fine, but "what really grinds my gears" is that these are the "fans" (that I've met in real life mind you, not in cyber space) are the ones who can't stop complaining about everything Star Wars after 1980. So if this doesn't apply to you ( you know who you are) please don't take it personally. I'm sure I'll probably get attacked for this. If not, are their anyone other fans out there that have had the same experience with these self proclaimed "true" or "real" Star Wars "fans"? The other 98% I've met have never stated that they are the true, real, ultimate fan etc. they have just called themselfs Star Wars fans. And thats what I am a "Star Wars fan."
