Update, February 15, 2006: Lord of War is now online!
This article actually clocked in at double what I thought it would. Though I originally said it was going to be around 2,000 words, it ended up being closer to 4,000. Which means Lord of War is essentially as long as Unknown Soldier, bringing the total word count for The Story of General Grievous somewhere in the ballpark of 8,000... a bona fide epic! The articles should be hitting StarWars.com and Hyperspace subscribers by next week! Enjoy!
As I
previously mentioned, issue #86 of
Star Wars Insider magazine will contain an article I wrote laying bare the origin of the newest villain of the Star Wars saga,
Revenge of the Sith's awesome robotic killer General Grievous. And now, through special arrangement with StarWars.com, fans who are members of Hyperspace: The Official Star Wars Fan Club will have access to an exclusive
second article appearing only in the online supplement to Insider #86 here next month.
Tentatively titled,
"The Story of General Grievous II: Lord of War," this second project basically gives fans everything about el numero uno Jedi slayer that couldn't fit into the original print article due to practical concerns like layout and word count restrictions. But make no mistake; this is no simple slapped together supplement. That's not my style. This companion piece looks like it clocks in at an extra 2,000 words
[actually, make that 4,000 ~ Abel], and pending Lucasfilm approval fans will learn:
Who were Grievous' original Kaleesh "Elite" after whom his most trusted droid bodyguards were nicknamed?
What happened to the MagnaGuards after Episode III?
What are Lig swords and shoni spears?
Who or what is N-K Necrosis, and how does he relate to Grievous?
What was the name of Grievous' starfighter?
...and lots, lots more. Don't miss it! If you don't have a Hyperspace subscription, this Christmas might be a good time to ask someone for it.
Happy Holidays folks!
