Author Chat at the Galactic Senate
UPDATED: If you missed the three-hour chat, check it out at this link! Also feel free to post any questions that didn't get answered there right on this blog!

Hey folks! Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that I'll be participating in an online chat over at JediNet's Galactic Senate Monday February 20, 2006 at 8 p.m. on the East Coast/5 p.m. West Coast.

Yup, that's today. :)

Go here for details and to register. Ms. Karen "Republic Commando" Traviss will also be participating in an online chat at JediNet just a few days later, so you might as well sign up early! ;)

I've gotten some really interesting questions from Star Wars fans over the last year. These include, "Do you think the Mandalorians' T-visor is symbolic of something?" (yes); "When you described Darth Maul as "feral," did you mean literally feral, as in raised in the wilderness?" (potentially); and just yesterday, "Did the Iron Knight Luxum die while taking revenge on the Yuuzhan Vong?" (probably).

Sometimes I get really off-the-wall questions too, like if I would like to join a particular cult (no), whether I'm of a particular ethnicity (immediate Mexican heritage), and whether I'd like to eat rotten sheep liver, i.e. an invitation to be on Fear Factor (no; ironically, I tried out for the show several years ago and was rejected). Last week, a fan asked me if my feet are ticklish (yes, very).

And sometimes, they're not even questions. I'll just get a description about what someone did today while playing Battlefront II, followed by a spur of the moment reflection about how bloodthirsty and amoral players can act in a virtual reality.

So, the field for questioning is open! Swing by the Galactic Senate, get registered, head over to the Celebrity Guest and VIP Chats area, and ask away! Ask me about Mandalorians, the recently published Story of General Grievous, the secrets of my future Star Wars projects, my biggest influences outside of Star Wars, how to become professionally published, how my projects develop, your most troubling continuity questions, what Star Wars characters I've dressed up as, how can Return of the Jedi possibly be my favorite Star Wars movie, and whatever else is cookin your noodle. :)

Here's the announcement from JediNet. See ya there! ~ Abel G. Peņa
