Darth Vader, meet your maker!
No, I don't mean Darth Plagueis or Palpatine, I'm talking about Chris Antonowich.
You've seen me gush a couple of times here about the Holiday Darth Vader action figure. Not only is the toy's design kitschy-cool, but my favorite part is actually the back story that was created for the collector's fig, printed on the cardback.
So imagine my surprise and happiness when the wit behind the story of Holiday Darth Vader contacted me this last week.

Hey there,
I was searching the internet today and I came across your blog regarding the Holiday Darth Vader. I was a copywriter for Hasbro and worked there for 2 1/2 years, working on SW and Playskool brands. I left Hasbro in November to work in Boston at WBUR. Anyways, I wrote that cardback, as well as all the cardbacks for the Saga Collection, Unleashed 2006, Jedi Heroes and Galactic Heroes 2006. I appreciate your review ("this person deserves a medal") and other kind words.
Just wanted to say thanks - that made my day!

Chris! How are you!
Brother, the Holiday Darth Vader cardback text is an exemplar of ironic, comic perfection. Subtle, fun, and very, very funny, you simply captured lightning in a bottle. My figure stands proudly in its packaging on my Star Wars bookshelf.
Happy to make your day and your acquaintance. I wish you much success at WBUR. You have a sharp mind and a keen wit. Hopefully you get to use your talents there.
Take care,
Abel
