Hey folks. As you can probably guess from previous posts, I generally have a soft spot for furry creatures. So I initially thought it was pretty cool when I bought a house last year and found squirrels scampering in my backyard.

They look pretty cute.

However, when avocado season came, and I found the squirrels were devouring the fruit of the gods growing on my trees before they were even ripe, it wasn't long before all out war erupted. At first, I thought I could just shoo the occassional squirrel away, but it wasn't long before they began to band together. Now I'm barely holding my own.

Recently, the beasts have been getting more aggressive. I've tried setting traps for them, but they seem to sense something's wrong. I've even resorted to shooting the little devils, but that's sort of, well, backfired you could say.

And now, just last night, I heard a funny something just outside my window. A scratching. A scratching on my chamber window.

When I woke up this morning, there it was. A message. Cut into the window pane, ostensibly with the corner of an acorn:

WE'VE BEEN TOLERANT SINCE YOU CAME, UNINVITED, TO LIVE AMONGST US; INTRUDING INTO OUR HOME, EATING OUR FOOD. BUT YOUR DISREGARD OF OUR KINDNESS HAS NOT GONE UNNOTICED.

NOW BEWARE: THE AVOCADO THEFTS DEMAND RECKONING.

I'm not scared.

They're just squirrels, after all.
